FLEX Tools 24V Hammer Drill Driver with Turbo Review [FX1271T]
Ғылым және технология
Just push the turbo button and instantly pickup another 500 RPM. It's as simple as that. This new FLEX 24-volt Hammer Drill Driver with Turbo drills and drives fasteners with ease.

Wow , that drill bit sinks in that beam like butter , I can’t wait to get my hammer drill and impact driver
Always nice to see someone showing how to properly lock the bit in the chuck.
I wish more things in life had a built-in "anti-jerk" feature.
I'm a little disappointed the turbo mode timed out. Those self-feed bits are demanding, for sure, but if you're on a jobsite doing lots of those holes, that would be annoying. I guess you could leave turbo off and just take a little more time on each hole if you had to. I'm going to try to replicate your test with my 8.0aH battery and see what happens (although the 8.0 is a clunky beast hanging off the tool and I don't think you'd want to wear out your wrist with it on there all day). Thanks, Tim!
Their warranty at the moment is been improved too , not batteries are covered with a limited lifetime warranty as well as the power tools.
I’m glad I watched this again because it confirms that the one I got has a defective chuck.
Good video.... But it is amazing to me how many KZread channels aren't aware of the anti kickback feature on the Flex hammer drill. It protects your wrist from breaking when the drill rotates rapidly, it only takes a short rotation of the drill to engage it and this is probably what is happening when you are using the 2-9/16" self feed bit. It is like ATC (active torque control) on Hilti drills. It is a great feature for your safety. You mentioned it when using the timber screws, but didn't when you used the self feeding bit. Cheers
Really good and clarifying test. Good job!
Just picked mine up today, gotta say actually very very impressed. Went in to pickup a Dewalt XR and glad I went with this instead.

I found a cool test for hammer drills. I’ve been using my XTR for a 4in garden auger. It’s brutal.

Those giant augers for soil are 👍 great.
You did a disservice by not using the stacked lithium battery. They are built with extra leads and allow for more current output. The BL drills take advantage of this.
It looks like the anti-kick tech is kickin in, not the drill limit
Tim, @05:33 does it say to tighten the chuck that way in the manual? I don’t know about Flex, but every drill I have used or owned, nowhere does it say in the manual to reverse the tightening like you did here? I’m just asking, as a lot of people are suggesting this in other videos? I have Metabo HPT cordless drills, that will click back, and I found it makes no difference, and the bits actually fall out. The chucks on those drills are hit and miss anyways. I have used drills for a lot of years, and have always tightened the single sleeve ratcheting chucks all the way, and leave it! Like I said, this chuck may be different? Enjoy your videos, and thumbs up. Stay safe and Healthy! 👍👍👍😁✌🏻🇺🇸
The Turbo mode gives the drill more speed. It has more torque without the Turbo mode turned on.

This is light duty hammer drill like the rest of them for installing anchors and stuff if you want a true hammer drill get an SDS end of story
I’d like to see this again with the stacked lithium battery.
Do you recommend it, how is your battery?
Everyone is always using these 2 and 9 1/16 bits in these tests. What are they really for. Is it for 2 inch pipe
Hey shop tool reviews could you do some reviews of drilling metal?
I'm confused with how the chuck works I guess I gotta drill into some more stuff with mine good video
I have this set and use it to drive up to 24in screws doing durolast and tpo
Everyone says that the drill is amazing, but mentions that the turbo shuts off after a few holes. Then, of course, there’s the leaking battery issue unless you get the stacked lithium version.
Actually not impressed about this tool Tim. Only worth would be the life warranty. Thanks for another excellent video
Drill Steel! There's entire industries of guys using drills every day who never drill into wood. The relationship between torque and speed doesn't translate between wood and steel very well. Steel needs higher speeds and indeed pressure and that's certainly going to be important in which drill you go with but every drill review focuses pretty much entirely on wood, which is less of a challenge in my opinion.
Great video like always...After all the “hype” the Flex drill is starting to look like all the other drills...Dewalt seems to be still on top especially their 998 & 999 model...👍

Dewalt’s warranty isn’t nearly as good as Flex’s.
Here’s an interesting question...If Flex didn’t have the side LED on the batteries how many people would have bought the drill???🤔🤔🤔🤔

I like the color scheme! I’ve always wanted a tool company to come out with black and gray tools and a nice looking battery, unfortunately it had to be Flex😝
If only an OEM would come up with a middle mechanical gear somewhere between Speed 2 and Speed 1 so that you can still finish large bores faster than Speed 1 without stopping like Speed 2. Oh wait.... DeWalt foresaw this problem and came up with a solution. Thanks DeWalt!
Honestly, From what I am seeing, Flex is pretty good but is it worth changing platforms? New to tools? No question consider Flex. For now, I'll stick to my RED tools.

I think a year from now or so when we have a more clear vision of what flex is gonna be, I will decide. Their tools look good, but they don’t stand out at all. They have a lot of work to catch up to the competition.
Something's gotta be wrong with that 2 and 9 1/16 bit. I've seen test where the flex drives those bits like butter.
I like the tool
Any one notice the wood was altered kinda hallow how did it split

Anyone would be crazy to replace Makita, Milwaukee or Dewalt for Flex. Maybe in 5-10 years if Flex is still in existence and “all” my tools need replacement.
@wayneprice6918

Try the 7 1/4 rear handle saw or the 6 1/2 in line saw. Both are better than the Makita. I own the Makita and got tired of being covered in sawdust
It's the anti kickback feature stopping it
Yep
i know guys like to drive screws in with their drills but the impact driver is actually a better tool to use because of the shorter drive on it...i said to myself when he had the bit and the extension plus the depth of the tool, he's going to fall off of that thing....and he's good at driving in stuff...Joe Homeowner is going to fall flat on his face with all that extra length
Flex was consulted by Tim the tool man Taylor
I've seen enough Flex demo videos now to convince me that my Makitas aren't going anywhere.

That's a good choice. Regardless if whether some of the FLEX tools may be stronger in some areas, it's not significant enough to replace your Milwaukee. Thanks for watching.

Another Chervon product. I could tell before looking it up.
Wow. Absolutely not impressed. What was all that hype about?
5.29 , if you need to wiggle a bit sO it will go trough , the drill does not have the sufficient power . PERIOD!
Just a Milwaukee with more features🤦🏻♂️
I will not be buying Flex for two reasons. First I have a battery platform I'm happy with. Second, just because they do well in tests doesn't mean they are reliable and have a warranty that is honored. I'll wait to see if they stand the test of time.

Agree. Flex seems to think that Power Tools are meant for winning Power Tool Races on the internet. So they geared their tools to win races against only M18. I want tools that work when I pick them up. I don't need a Ferrari out of a power tool. A Toyota tool will do.
Let the blade do the work, quit binding the bit by trying to Reem out that hole.
@PhillyFixed

The bit wasn't successfully pulling itself in and he was trying to get it to bite.
@RobertLeBlancPhoto

He's not reaming, he's adjusting pitch angle in order to adjust the biting surface so it doesn't bind. Very common when using bits that are not new or perfectly sharpened.
