Flesh in the Pipes | The Disturbing Case of Adam Strong

Ойын-сауық

In 2017, Rori Hache disappeared from Oshawa. Two weeks later, a horrifying discovery would be made in Lake Ontario, and then a few months later, a plumber would be called to a certain house. Pipes blocked, and a man named Adam Strong was very anxious.

As a recovered heroin addict that was homeless in New Orleans during a time someone was murdering and decapitating homeless women and sex workers (pretty sure we all know who did it and at one point he slept in the same squat house as me whoch makes me shiver when I think about it. He's dead now), my heart chokes up a bit when Mike says, "she was loved". I was so far gone, I just accepted I was going to die on the streets. So I kept a note in my purse (I didn't have an ID) with my name, birtdate, and my mom's phone number. Along with an apology to her and my stepdad and telling them I loved them. Stories like this one make me feel a lot of gratitude I have made it out of that hell and I'm now 6 years clean....some people are not as fortunate and their mothers didn't get to see them get their lives together.

Congrats on 6 years clean that is huge. If I can be personal too...my brother was a heroin addict for years when I was a teenage and it's so hard for everyone. I was angry with the lies, the drugs, the stealing..but I still loved him and I wish I treated him better because I was too young and stupid to realize how much he must have been hurting to be in that place too. Anyway- anytime I see a recovered or current heroin addict my heart just goes out to them, and I'm so actually proud of you hearing that you beat the same demon my brother fought all those years ago.

That’s part of their training, they have to show incredible restraint to be able to build the case and get the information they need. I've had people on Reddit go through my post/comment history and dm me saying some pretty terrible things like that I should be euthanized because a junkie will always be a junkie and the only good junkie is a dead one. So yeah, I appreciate him not victim blaming people that were struggling with active addiction.

@UNABOMBER MANIFESTO - He's going to prison, no jail. Canadian prisons are pretty cushy compared to the shitholes in the US, and considering that Adam Strong will likely spend his time isolated from dangerous inmates, if he's a guy who likes to keep to himself, he might not even suffer that much there after a few rough years of acclimatization. There is no death penalty in Canada, so life in prison might no be that hard for that scumbag. People who get the death penalty in the US have muuuuch harder life inside than the others, since they aren't allowed to make contact with other prisoners (and make friends to play cards, get high, lift weights, pass the times...) because since they have literally nothing to lose they are the most dangerous; they can't have a routine, they don't have access to commissary items/comfort food, get a job inside the prison and do something with their life like studying, and the date of the execution takes a long time to determine so that feeling of dread never leaves them... I often see people write that life in prison is much worse than the death penalty, because they have to stay in forever. But in reality, after a few years, most lifers are institutionalized and have made peace with the fact that they'll never leave that place. It doesn't mean that their life is over though, there's lots of ways to communicate with the outside world, to find new hobbies, to buy a TV and play video games, read lots of books (or write one?), get a job that you actually enjoy inside, either legal (cooking, repairing TVs, radios, building stuff to sell...) or illegal (becoming a tattoo artist is a common one, or brewing the finest prison wine, finding new & exciting ways to gets synthetic cannabinoids through the post office). Sorry about the long long post ^^' There's a reason criminals do all they can to avoid the death penalty, because it means that the time you'll serve before the execution will be really *shitty*. Even if you have money, so usually you'd be able to buy a TV and all the food you want, plus extra pillows and sheets, all that good stuff, not on death row...

I lived in the upper part of the house where Adam Strong resided (in the basement). He would constantly blast metal music, cook food (that smelled very weird) and leave for work usually around 10pm to take the bus to his job (at an Ajax gas station). Adam did not drive, however, he had a small fishing boat he would park in the driveway. He never took out his garbage, and was ultimately a hoarder. He kept very much to himself. One day the power went out because of an ice storm and begged for him to come in (because we had a wood burning stove in our place) above him, and he wanted to keep warm. He gave me the creeps from day one, and I’m still shocked, sad, and horrified of what I’ve found out about Adam considering I shared a home with him. Now living in North Oshawa and hearing that he has buried another woman up hear I’m very saddened and feel for both families. I’m glad he’s in custody and will never be able to hurt another woman again! These women were loved very much by their families and friends and it’s extremely sad that this monster took their fate into his own hands. My condolence to both families. I’m very sorry for your losses.

Thank you for covering Rori and Kandis' case. I was born in Oshawa in 2002, and lived there til very recently. I remember the news that a torso had been found in the lake... What happened to Rori is a deep wound for myself and most others. Oshawa is a diverse city with many dangerous pockets, such as our downtown where Strong lived on McMillan. He kidnapped both girls from the downtown area, where many of us would access public transportation to get home, to the mall, etc. Oshawa was never safe to us, but finding a girl much like ourselves in such a manner... that made things real. I hate Adam Strong for his brutality and his deranged crimes, but most of all, for his cowardice. The families deserve to know what happened to their daughters, and why he felt he had the right to execute them. If he can tell the police "the jig is up, she's in the freezer," (actually quote), he can tell them what he did and why. He'll never fully give the girls back to their families, and that's the most sickening part of it all.

They were found buried in North Oshawa (in a fairly new residential area where I live, formerly Windfields Farm) in early November 2021 and officially confirmed to be her by police on February 16/22. I recently subscribed. I like everything about your channel, Mike. Your story telling is phenomenal. Your sense of humor is great. The length of your posts is just right. I feel like you are relaxed and really show your personality; you seem genuine, as opposed to being a You Tube persona. Another thing I really like is the fact that, for the most part, you avoid profanity. I don't say that from a prudish point of view. Rather, I like that characteristic for two reasons: 1) It is to the point where many people don't speak without being vulgar. Almost every sentence has to have something coarse or off-color. From my perspective that does nothing to impress me. It doesn't make what is said more relevant or give more validity to it. Nor does it show the speaker has a wide vocabulary, or good communicative skills. I like the fact that you don't feel the need to conform to that low standard. 2) After a while I find crude language actually distracting; it interferes with the message. While I am sure it is simply a habit for many people, to me, it becomes annoying. I like how you use language, such as a play on words, and sense of humor to get your point across. It is not only effective communication, but from the number of subscribers you have, I would say it it also a very successful way to tell your stories. Keep it up!

That was an amazing episode of, That Chapter. Adam Strong was more like an Adam Strange sporting a happy outlook on his evil doings. Thanks Mike, I looked this episode up after watching your latest episode May 1 2022 titled "The Cody Legebokoff case" Cody also known as "Cody Fuckoff" (as suggested by you in your narration). I really enjoy your style of presentation, always respectful when referring to victims and those who are grieving. I also appreciate the humour or the way way you "belittle" these monsters who commit these crimes like Cody Fuckoff...Keep up the good work Mike.

Shades of Denis Nilsen in London, UK. Maybe you should do a video on Neilson's case. It was during one of the worst winters in London 1983, I think. . I felt sorry for the police who had to secure the scene standing in the cold and snow. The drains backed up just like in this case. Happy New Year, Mike ☘️🇮🇪☘️ The food order just made me laugh, God forgive me.
