Lindsey is a champ to just stand there and let her get her anger and hurt out at his expense. He doesn't look away. He looks straight at her, even leans in and allows her to process her obviously intense feelings. And he does this as thousands of people watch, understanding the situation. That's respect.

Yes, but the band members put the band ahead of all the personal drama for the most part (That's what the song The Chain is all about).... there was a time when Lindsey did leave FWM (1987). At the height of their success with the Rumors record (1977), Stevie said was the most miserable time for her and that she was a pretty unhappy person. But the fans loved it and the record sales were enormous.

@@lizetteolsen3218 😂 No she did not. That's just Stevie's usual martyr spin. She showed up for one month of the six to record Mirage because she was working on her solo stuff. She showed up TWO weeks on the 18 months of making Tango In The Night to do her own tour, go to rehab (just 28 days though) then follow Tom Petty & Bob Dylan around like a groupie instead of writing songs and recording with her band. Then complained she wasn't on the album enough and threatened to go to Rolling Stone about it. So Lindsey added her into Little Lies. Meanwhile Lindsey was pressured into turning his 3rd solo album into TITN and then spent a year and half producing, arranging, recording, playing etc for a bunch of non functioning and mostly absent bandmates - except Chris. He'd been the main producer for all their albums even though they didn't deign to give him solo Producing credit until Mirage. He produced The Dance for them after they held an intervention and begged him to come back. Then once again with Say You Will, Mick and WB had him roll another solo album into an FM project. Meanwhile Stevie refused to record an album with Fleetwood Mac for the next 15 years even after Lindsey said they could get another producer and even after Chris came back. That record with Chris is what really pissed Stevie off - even though they stupidly didn't call it a FM album to placate her. She didn't like looking bad for not contributing and she didn't like the band making and releasing an album without her. And she really didn't like it was called Buckingham/McVie. In 2012 when FM was to tour she unilaterally announced no FM wasn't going to tour that year but instead she was taking another year for her album tour and if they didn't like it too bad. Mick had an interview in Rolling Stone where he called it the death of the band while Lindsey of all people defended her and said she should take the time she needed. But then in 2018 after ousting Lindsey she laughably lied on National TV that Lindsey refused to tour for a year and that no one member could hold up the band. He had the nerve to ask for 2 months delay after WB changed the released date for his solo album. (after his ouster they wound up delaying 2-3 months) When they refused he capitulated but asked if he could solo tour in between band dates since Stevie demanded 3 days between shows. But that request never even made it to Stevie before she issued her him or me ultimatum when she knew greedy Mick would never give up the bigger tour money she would bring. All he needed to do was pressure John - and majority rules. Chris was told after the deal was done. John later said it was a mistake and now Mick is back to kissing Lindsey's ass because he's the only one still creating and making music.

Stevie and Lindsey actually got into a huge fight over this song in 1977 when they recorded it for the album "Rumours". Lindsey and Mick decided it was too long for the Lp and couldn't be used (they later stuck it on the B-side of the "Go Your Own Way" single) and Stevie was furious.

Lex, go back to the songs "Go your own way" and "The Chain". Listen closely to the words of each and you'll understand better. Lindsay and Stevie were a struggling musical couple when Fleetwood Mac reformed in the 70s. Lindsey auditioned for and was accepted by the band but would not join them without Stevie. That's how they got there. Shortly after Lindsey and Stevie broke up, but both stayed with the band fighting through their lyrics throughout the years. Silver Springs is just another in the line.

When they first started in the 60's they were a British blues rock band and were known as Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac, as Green was the most famous member. They were hugely popular in Europe, it's said that in 1969 they sold more singles than the Beatles and Rolling Stones put together. It's funny that you bring up the swampy aspect of this music. Stevie Nicks played that exact roll on American Horror Story. I think it was the Coven season, which was a really good one. Very astute observation. You must not be the only one who felt that connection. This song means a lot to me. I can feel her pain when I hear it, and we've all felt similar at times in our lives.

Don't forget, guys, there was another couple having big problems during Rumours. The McVies. Check out Christine McVie's beautiful version of "Songbird" from this same concert, The Dance. She never wanted to sing this song on tour because it's so emotional and she's alone at the piano. It was always the last song they played at a show, and John McVie would have tears streaming down his face standing in the wings, offstage.

Silver Springs was my favorite song from the Rumours recordings. But for many years, it wasn't even included on the album. From what I've read, they just thought the song came off too negative. But it's such a fantastic song. This particular live performance is amazing as Stevie sings her pain directly to Lindsey who looks right back at her eye to eye. A fantastic song and and equally fantastic performance of the song.

Actually , Lex you're right on. In fact, you're actually reciting the history of those two people. Not all, but the majority of the songs Stevie and Lindsey wrote were about each other and the good times and the bad they had in their relationship. That's what drove their creativity.

This is one of my faves. Let me give you the tea. There is so much history here. Stevie & Lyndsey had their own band Buckingham-Nicks. They were invited to join the band called Fleetwood Mac. Mick Fleetwood (drummer) and John & Christine McVie (married). Fueled by drugs, affairs, and success they all broke apart. Their album Rumours, arguably one if the best albums of all time, was born from that time. Lyndsey wrote songs about Stevie, visa versa. Stevie had an affair with Mick. Lyndsey left the band. Stevie left. All came back and continued to make music together, apart, back together and still 45 yrs later still still sing those dongs about each other. Christine & John are divorced. Lyndsey married a young woman a few years ago & has young twins I think. You probably live Fleetwood Mac because they have 3 songwriters that are very distinct. This is a Stevie song, it was her favorite at the tine and they left it off the Rumours album (1977). It devastated her. When they all got together for a tour and live album (I was there) they added this song to it, that’s the live performance you were viewing. It was nominated for a Grammy. It is about Lyndsey. However, it has since been added to the remastered Rumours album in 2004. Most of the songs you’ve been listening to are Stevie songs. Dont stop is a Christine song, Go your own way is about Stevie and a Lyndsey song. Big Love and Never Going back again. Lyndsey songs. Christine might have the most beloved Fleetwood Mac song, next to Landslide, called Songbird. Often they end their concerts on this one. kzread.info/dash/bejne/l4CG27t-hNHVeag.html Lyndsey's most famous song is Tusk. Live is best. I like Monday Morning. Other Stevie songs include Seven Wonders and one of my favorites but little known Fleetwood Mac songs called Storms, it is about her affair with Mick Fleetwood.

Brad - "Do you think it's still hard to sing a song like this like 20 years later?" Stevie - Look at my face during this live performance and you be the judge. Remember she is talking about Lindsey Buckingham, the guitarist in this video. If you keep your eyes on her face it is painfully obvious that she is still to this day angry about that period in their lives. She looks right at him while singing. "I'll follow you down 'til the sound of my voice will haunt you, haunt you, give me just a chance You'll never get away from the sound of the woman that loves you, loves you, was I just a fool?"

This song has an interesting history. It was recorded during the Rumours sessions, but didn't make the cut on the original album. It was a reunion concert that almost didn’t happen..but.. they made it through the emotions, etc.running high. And did so epically! You asked if it would be hard to sing it year after year- and yes, there’s a LOT of history within the band mates.. amongst each other- the raw, real emotion came out during that concert and is palpable- So yes, in a lot of the songs, there is a story of theirs behind it- The did The Dance reunion/concert much later in life/career- BUT, looked and sounded better than ever, even their epic younger days- Plz do yourselves a favor and watch the concert- look up on the backstory of it as well- (I know you like watching these types things on bands, etc..) Well this band is definitely a MUST- Oh I just love FM! Stevie is just mesmerizing! ❤️✨
