Christine McVie never gets enough credit, especially with reactors. She's fantastic. Her live singing especially on songs like Songbird can bring you to tears. Anyone who saw FM live back in the day can attest, when she plays Songbird you could look around the audience and see grown men in tears. Most of the reaction channels don't even do any of her songs. She has some great ones. She's just as great as Stevie Nicks but in a different way.

And she's been around the band from the very beginning. She was playing piano and doing background vocals, albeit uncredited, as early as Fleetwood Mac's 2nd album. I think that she was still officially in Chicken Shack at the time so that may be why she was treated like a session musician for that albuLm. She'd be a full fledged member not long after, though.

It takes serious talent as a female vocalist to be in a band with Stevie Nicks and still have a chance to shine.

FM has a great stable of talent. Keyboardist Christine McVie (pronounced McVee) was married to bassist John McVie. She had some great songs for FM, the most famous of which is Don't Stop. So many people think FM is all about Stevie, but Christine and Lindsay's songs are my favorites.

Such an incredibly sad day to hear of the passing of the gloriously talented Christine McVie of Fleetwood Mac fame. God bles you Christine, you made the world a brighter place with your beautiful compositions, silky voice and incredible musicianship. You were a huge part of the soundtrack of my life and millions of others lives as well and we will miss you forever.

She also sings Songbird, one of my favourite Fleetwood Mac songs. The switching of main vocalists between songs is quite pleasing when you listen to the entire album.
Contrasting voices are what make their harmonies so striking. They've got Silky (this one), Scratchy, and Crystal Clear all singing together.
Love Christine McVie's voice. Great keyboardist and song writer too. Toe to toe with the other members of this super group. They had talent out the wazoo.

For a true fan of Fleetwood Mac, Christine McVie is as much the star of the band as Stevie and Lindsey. The band was a three headed monster, all three singers being great performers and songwriters.
Among my top three Mac tunes and, if I were forced to pick, well might be my very favorite...Christine McVie really knows what to say to a fella and how to say it ----"Say You Love Me" is another gem of hers with the band

I've always said Christie McVie has the most smooth vocals, perfect for background vocals, but also has her own hit songs, like this one and "Everywhere" - which has just made a comeback. Also, "Don't Stop" is probably her most famous. Always loved this one - you can totally chill to it... like Stevie's "Dreams". : )
If you want to hear more of Christie's smooth singing and songwriting for Mac, "Songbird", "Don't Stop", "Hold Me", "Little Lies" and "Over My Head" are other mega hits by the band where she's the primary singer.
My favorite Fleetwood Mac song. Christine McVie really shines in this performance. Her voice will go down as a classic sound in this iconic group.
Christine wrote this about her boyfriend at the time who was the bands Lighting director at that point when she had just broken up with John McVie. Never was an album written & recorded under so much personal turmoil which turned out as superb as Rumours.
Different vicals? That s th Amazing Christy McVie!!! Big part of FM's beautiful tones
Great song, great vocals, and the instrumental backing is simply perfect. Timeless.
This is the FM song that hooked me as a kid on FM radio. It has so much groove. Christine McVie is amazing.
This is Christine McVie on lead vocals. She was John McVie's wife, and she was the keyboardist in the band. She is often overlooked as a singer in this band, but she provided many wonderful songs to the band's catalog. Check out "Song Bird".
Fleetwood Mac was blessed to have had two of the most amazing and iconic female voices in popular music. As well as some pretty good male lead vocalists, it should be mentioned 💯🤘. There are three different iterations of Fleetwood Mac that are worth comparison. The first one might surprise you: 1) The original version fronted by guitarist, songwriter and singer Peter Green. This is the version I was introduced to at a club in Glasgow, Scotland in 1969. There are two songs from this era that you should check out. First and foremost, "Black Magic Woman". Yep, the one Santana covered. It was actually written by Peter Green and recorded by Fleetwood Mac a year or so before Santana's definitive rendition was released. Whilst Santana's version is by far the better known, and arguably just plain better, it is still worth the time to listen to the original version of the song. The other one from the Peter Green era is "The Green Manalishi (With The Two Prong Crown)". This one would be covered brilliantly by Judas Priest but the original Fleetwood Mac version is definitely worth a listen. 2) The Bob Welsh years. Between the Peter Green era and the Buckingham/Nick's era there was the Bob Welsh period. The only song that really stands out from that time is "Hypnotized". 3) The Buckingham/Nicks era. This is by far the best known version. You are already familiar with the voices of Stevie Nicks and Christine McVie so let me suggest something with Lindsey Buckingham on lead vocals. "Monday Morning" "Second Hand News" "Go Your Own Way" Tioraidh an-drasta 🏴✌️

Finally, a song from the lovely Christine! “Spare Me A Little” is another beautiful example of her songwriting/performing excellence!

Fleetwood Mac "Rumors" was one of those rare albums where every song was absolutely fantastic.
One of my favorite Fleetwood Mac videos to watch is Christine singing "Say You Love Me" from The Dance Concert. Even John sings some backup, and Lindsey on banjo in a somewhat acoustic set. Pretty neat.
this is my 2nd most favourite song on RUMOURS. as most know, many break ups were happening with the band members at this time. christine mcvie was seperated from john and she was kinda secretly seeing a lighting guy from their touring crew. all the tumult and chaos within the band at this time (and knowing if john found out who this guy was, would get UGLY) would've been unbearable if not for this guy. this song was written for him and it's deceptively happy and flowing and bright, exactly the opposite of what was happening and what christine needed. it's wonderful!
I love Christine's voice. Say You Love Me is one to listen to.
Damn good song from a timeless album
Love Christine McVies vocals. Always did like her over Stevie Nicks. Not taking anything away from Stevie. Just personal preference. Fleetwood Mac man!👍🤟🤟🤟
It's good to see Christine McVie get some love! Not a lot a reaction channels do her songs, and at get best, she's just as good as Stevie!
I just learned of her passing. Rest in peace. She is an all time great.
It's really surprising that you've gone this long without hearing a single by Christine. She wrote and sang lead on about 1/3 of their songs and some of their biggest hits. She's also the keyboardist/pianist. She was married to the bassist, John McVie, but was singing about someone else in this song. All kinds of drama was going with these guys alluring this album.
This is one of my 3 favorite Fleetwood Mac songs. The singer here is Christine McVie, not Stevie Nicks, that's probably why you said it sounded different. Her voice, the drums and guitar work are all fantastic. She also sings Little Lies, As Long as You Follow, and several other songs that became hits for Fleetwood Mac. You definitely need to check out more of her songs.

@@christianhansen3292 Just Stevie and that depends what day it is. If Mick hadn't folded so quickly to her "him or me" ultimatum she probably would have changed her mind the next month. On her current tour she can't shut up about Lindsey and Buckingham Nicks. Last week she referred to him as "Our friend Lindsey". 😯 Meanwhile, Chris says she "loves" Lindsey and he's "the best" and Mick that old charlatan made a birthday video for him last month and says he can't wait to play with him again (yeah - because he's the only one still creating new music and the McVies don't want to tour again). Considering Lindsey sued them for $14m and reportedly got most of it, I'm actually shocked at Mick and Chris. They supposedly blackballed poor Bob Welsh from the FM Hall Of Fame induction for far far less money.
The genius in this song is the production/arrangement. You have a set of chords and melody, so what do you do with them? The choices made here are so creative.
