@Julia Berry That's actually a great perspective lol. I remember watching that scene and expecting the priest to comfort her but then it turned sexual. But tbh given that this show is written by PWB it doesn't seem much like a male fantasy. I think it was supposed to signify that since fleabag was finally emotionally vulnerable with him, both of them decided to let go of control in some way to engage in a sexual act that also involved EMOTIONAL connection (which was probably also a first for fleabag)

He played propably the most sexiest priest in the cinema history.

I hear you but you are forgetting the timeless Thorn Birds and Richard Chamberlain as Cardinal Ralph De Bricassart who was a mess as a character but maybe the hottest mess on tv history , and in the book the portrayal of that character was even more heartbreaking and unforgettable. He wanted to be her but at the same time he wanted to be with the people, to serve them and spread the word. So he chose to remain a priest instead of giving it up to be with Fleabag, who I think really fell in love for the first time in her life. I mean really love and trust a man.😊

Andrew Scott is freaking brilliant. Brilliant. Every moment is layered with the subtlest of human nuances. I full on get physically flustered when he is out of breath, and repeats, “I don’t know, I don’t know... I don’t know what this feeling is.” His voice and his breath work makes me WEAK.

Sıla Öz I always thought that line was sad too but now I realize I misinterpreted it. He didn’t mean necessarily that she would stop loving him or she would get over him. He meant that the pain of it would pass eventually and she would just feel fondly about their time together.

I've been in love once. And I can say this is the most realistic love encenation I've seen in 30 years of life. The feeling is exactly like this.

That's so incredibly sad. I wish we lived in a world where he could have had both. I do believe that Pope Francis doesn't seem to mind the idea of a married priest too much, but I think the other high-ranking members scared him off from actually doing anything about his beliefs on the subject.

The bishop of our diocese asked him to transfer to this one from the one he’d been in a state away. It let him stay a priest-but it must have been awful. The married priests is one thing I wish Francis would be firm about and allow.

Yes... Spending time and paying attention does wonders.

I did imagine at the end, they became a couple eventually and broke the 4th wall together. But it crashed my world when she said just let "I love you" in the air for a moment

the pain in their faces when they say i love you… absolutely heart breaking man.

Some relationship endings maked me cry less than that last episode.

I love that he sees her disappear when she talks to the camera. They're so connected.

My favorite part of this is how the priest responds to Fleabag's question "are you a real priest?" The way he says "yeah" sounds like he's forgotten whether he's a real priest, or maybe for a second he feels like he isn't a real priest and doesn't want Fleabag to blow his cover. It's so intimate and amazing.

Because I've seen a few pieces of media with 4th wall breaks (High Fidelity comes to mind, both the movie and the recent show adaptation), and I don't know if it ever was this well done. I mean, the way she goes from looking straight at the viewer and back to normal conversation is next level.

This relationship seriously helped me get over my break up in ways I didn’t understand. But it felt so wholesome. Seriously. It makes no sense but it changed my life.

This Story between them is the best love story that was written for decades. The mixture of the physical attraction, the shared humor and subtile interest (that he even shares the breaking of the 4th wall with her) shows perfectly the ingrediences of love. 💚

This entire show was amazing & sucked me in. The energy & chemistry blows my mind everytime! I want to see them start a life is together & explore this beautiful love connection..I wish there was more of this coming soon, but understand Phoebe's perspective for wrapping it up. The talent is undeniable!

Isn't it ironic , she is an atheist , and what "condemned" her was faith , not necessarily her's but the priest's . It didn't really matter whether they believed or didn't believe . They both got the same result .

I know I'm late to the party but I watched Fleabag in two days and I really don't know what to do with myself now. I want to tell everyone to watch this, I want to scream it from the rooftops but I also want it to be my little secret. I have truely never ever audibly gasped at my television but when he said 'kneel' and pulled the curtains back I was flabbergasted and thought I was going to erupt into flames. This show seriously is something else!

I think Andrew Scott is an amazing kisser and no one can convince me otherwise 🥵

I know the way it ended but I don't think they will be able to leave each other alone. Maybe it's just wishful thinking, but I think they will reconcile.

The chemistry between them is perfect - the glances, the comments, the smiles. Absolutely perfect

I revisit this video every few weeks so that I never forget about how great a character the priest was.

This sent me on an emotional roller coaster! It had me short of breath, and then in tears...and then I sat here, in my chair, completely wrecked...and then a few minutes later, I watched it again. Their chemistry in this show was *literally* absolutely breathtaking.

I have come to the conclusion that Fleabag is Midge Maisel’s granddaughter. Change my mind

Honestly, he could just try to swap from being a catholic priest to a protestant pastor. 😅 Still get to be in love with God and do the same job without the silly and old fashioned concept of celibacy. 🤷‍♀️
