Flattening Wood Cutting Boards Using a Router Sled
Ойын-сауық
I recently put together a bunch of pretty weird looking end grain cutting boards. Most of them were made from scraps I had from other boards. It's pretty satisfying to glue everything up at random and then plow through the outer crust with the router and reveal what's underneath.

Hello I'm trying to get into woodworking. I would like to know more about your router sled and how you keep your material from moving on the table.
Certaine sont très jolies 🤩 Bravo l artiste 👍🏻
Do you use your flattening bit for your handles?
WOWWWWW AWESOME
I’m making a chess board that could 100% be a cutting board. I have a router sled that works great but I’ve never used it on end grain. I’m afraid there be a bunch of chipping and blow out. Is there anything I should beforehand? Or do you think I’ll be good to go as long as everything is glued together?
Is there any flex with the router when moving across the mdf sled?

I don't notice any.
Ryan; Sent a few email with not answers, will try this. Would you please make a video on how you built your router sled? I believe this would help a lot of folks watching your channel. Please provide this asap
I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.

they range from 1.5" - 2"
Are there plans avail for #4 and 9 or can someone at least name the styles? At 7:13 the bottom right there's another style I'm curious about (unnumbered).

Plans for the patterns in #4 & 9 are available through MTMwood's website. As for the one at 7:13, do you mean the one on the very bottom, the one standing up, or the zigzag one that's closer to center?

Can you share what router bit you’re using? I’ve made a very similar flattening jig but my results aren’t nearly as smooth as yours so they require quite a bit of sanding.

@@robertdavison8580 it’s in the description. It cost 75 bucks! I was going to get one myself, but may try a different route. ✌️
Dislike!
