The Flatout Series is just childhood for me. So many cool memories. I still play it sometimes these days to just get these good feelings.

Need for Speed Most Wanted, Burnout Paradise, Midnight Club LA and Flatout UC - those were the golden times of just plain fun racing games!

strange pre-release build of Wreckfest you got here

I was born in 2004, so I was 4 at time this game came out. My story with this series started when I was about 6-7 and my younger bro gave me CD from my mom’s friend’s son FlatOut 1(in Czech language, cuz I am Slovak). He thought I would like it so he took it. And I played at least 2k hours on that throughout 5 years I have been playing the non-steam version of it. Then maybe in 2011-2012 my mom bought me FlatOut UC cuz she mistook it for FlatOut 2 😂. But I have been playing UC since that day a lot also. So now I can proudly say I am a veteran in this game by the age of 18. 😂😂

Remake of FlatOut 2. It's kinda the same but adds more

I absolutely love FO2 and FO:UC, actually the only thing that I don't like about UC is multiplayer via Windows live, but other than that, they are flawless in my opinion.

Man, seeing someone else play my literal childhood feels amazing. It's a complete nostalgia bomb. I never actually played FlatOut 2 or Ultimate Carnage, instead I played the PSP version which is a weird mashup of the FlatOut 2 graphics with the Career and Challenges of Ultimate Carnage

I downloaded this game again on Steam and had a blast from the past. Something about the graphics and the cars looking reworked in some aspects (both visual and performance) makes the game feel like a 2022 launch. Carnage Mode is cool as hell.

It's a classic, pretty much timeless

Man this is an absolute gem of the old days of racing games. Really brings me back to when I oblitirate my cousin on multiplayer lmao. Just a suggestion but you really should try eve of destruction/driven to destruction. That's literally wreckfest and a bit of flatout wrapped into one single enjoyable piece of entertainment with a touch of older graphics AND a bit more sense of progression. Really really recommended

Nice to see you trying out some other games and of course also starting out with an absolute classic. I would love to see you try out some other mid 2000's Racing Games cause there are a lot of lesser known gems out there. Keep it up man.

I dont get why wreckfest doesnt add the flashy restored cars. They were so cool to race with

The most iconic for me is FO2... The physics of that one were a bit different and more fun, more arcadey.

FOUC is literally a "next-gen" remaster for Xbox 360, but poorly ported to PC

seeing those cars again, boi the nostalgia is hitting for sure....

dont forget the bonus cars, Flatmobiile was hell of fun (also they changed the class from Racer to Street in Ultimate Carnage when you pick Flatmobile in stuff)

I love the flatout games, spent a lot of time as a little kid playing the stunt modes with my brother and dad and I’m 22 now, my dad is almost 50 so we don’t spend much time together so when we play Xbox I really cherish it bc of the memories I have, and I just bought a 360 to be able to play this and other games again

I remember playing this way back on the Xbox 360. I dominated with the school bus.

Flatout was my childhood, I used to race my dad and my younger brother. My dad would win every time though 😂😂😂. It’s just one of those games that I’ll never forget, it’s fun, competitive and absolutely insane

Rally Trophy is another great classic

It was my understanding that the Characters had different A.I. behaviour when they were driving. When driving near or around Curtis from my experience, he can be quite aggressive and throw his car around at you if you get too close. Lei Bing is super defensive/aggressive when she is in first place. Trying to overtake her sometimes was a challenge - once she had that first place spot the A.I fought hard to defend it. Majority of the other characters such as Jill Richards or Sofia they race traditionally with the occasional aggressive (from experience last night from when I was playing this lol).

That's correct. Frank Malcov was the worst driver, always crashing into walls.

Hahaha, same experience here! I loved this game on my PSP and now i'm replaying it on my Steam Deck with the PC version. You said it perfectly, there's just something missing about those modern games. When someone told me Forza was an arcade racer i was like "Oooh so like Burnout or Flatout?!" and they agreed and i tried it out only to see that...god seriously, how can Forza be called an arcade racer, it even has that guiding line that makes sure you know the best way to approach each and every segment of a track. I don't want that. I wanna race fast, crash other cars and use nitro, haha. Either Burnout with their supernatural-speed cars or Flatout with its heavy beasts that bulldoze one another, both approaches are fine. Btw - Trailout felt quite similar to Flatout! It's a modern reimagining of the formula by different developers and while i only played it for a short amount of time so far, it is also a little more challenging than Flatout: UC. You might like that one! (in case you haven't already played it, i'm on my way to check your channel out after finding you through this video, haha. Was a pleasure to watch, your voice is wonderful to listen to!)

You can also enter codes that unlock new cars like a Schoolbus. Its completely unnecessary, but gives the game a nice touch.

I love the driving physics in Dirt 2, all time favorite racing game. Wait... Maybe. Might be tied with NFS Most Wanted. Had the most badass evo in that game. So much fun.

Civic gang. I have a 1990 civic hatch and a 1986 Toyota Cressida. Both cars very much like ones you see in this game

Had Bugbear not sold the IP of FlatOut, Ultimate Carnage was planned to have DLC as well as allow custom cars to be introduced to the game along with new game mods and allow modding of tracks and cars but sadly was scrapped. Wreckfest instead shows off what FlatOut could have eventually be as it has a ton of cars and tracks. Thankfully there is another developer on the works of Trail-Out which is a direct sequel of FlatOut which is planned to come out later this year and plans to add content that Ultimate Carnage didn't get

Wish bugbear would get the rights to make another flatout game, wreckfest was amazing but miss the race and Street cars

driven to destruction is great for the ps2 :D you shuold try it..

sadly what creators doesn't have rights to this franchise _wold be cool if tracks from flatout 2 were added to wreckfest (like tracks from carmageddon)_

Even in 2023 the graphics looks so cool

Does this still have the goated soundtrack from flatout 2?

I have found the game after 9 years

This game is really difficult in the beginning you can't screw up if you want to win and if you crash forget about it you will never see the rubber band AI drivers they don't make mistakes. Weird game suggests to crash but it messes things up.

it looks like ridge racer and burnout with some ups and downs

The UI is nearly identical to Burnout, are they the same developer?

Trailout is excellent too

It’s such a brilliant game and not spoken about as much as it should be

For a 2007 game, the graphics still hold up and are way better than FlatOut 3

1:27 actually, each driver DOES drive differently, jack benton is really good and drives well, sofia martinez drives cleanly along with jack, frank malicov is brain damaged and old, so he's the worst driver ai, and so on.

Honestly I think the first flatout is the only good one in the series imo. Wreck fest is 2nd for me. I hated this game. Forgot which one this was until I watched the video. Poop

try multiplayer with handling damage(or with bots, but you need mod to activate handling damage in singleplayer), you would probably like it

yea, but unlike gamespy, multiplayer in this game is still works

I got this game with one of my Graphics cards, i had two GeForce 8800GT 512MB in SLI back then 2007, and i LOVED this game, the racing game which i played almost the most, after Need for Speed: Most Wanted (2005). Both great racing games games, back then i has a racing set, paddels and steer, i do not have that anymore for a long time, but yeah FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage was/is a great game.
