    Why are people saying that using a mannequin is useless? He is showing techniques which should work for all hair. The results here don't matter, its about techniques. So what difference does it make if the hair is straight. Don't people at least blow dry straight prior to flat ironing if their hair isn't naturally straight? So you'd be starting with straight-ish hair, no?

    these are the small things that nobody tells ! i saw so many people making diagonal sections but was never explained why so i always end up taking the horizontal straight sections. Thanks a lot for the video ! Also it will be great if you guys make some hair straightener tricks for shoulder length hair. I never see a proper video for it. please do it... !

    I think it might give the hair the appearance of one giant parenthesis (imagine the hairs all making a parenthesis behind her head), which makes it look better than a giant straight up and down line of hair so to speak. You'll notice most actresses have that wave hairstyle and it looks amazing. Woman are naturally curvy and mimicking that shape with hair certainly makes the hair blend in perfectly with everything else.

    Thank you for great tips and information. Flat ironing on a diagonal I didn’t know. Very useful and a new technique for me to incorporate. Also while I used a fine tooth comb and I knew I got much straighter strands I didn’t realize the science behind what the heat is actually doing but now it makes sense because before I used a comb sealing the texture/shape of the strand is exactly what I was doing. Thanks!!

  • @samvillahair

    @samvillahair

    7 жыл бұрын

    Those are common mistakes -- sections that are too large and irons that are too hot! Color molecules become damaged over 392 degrees. Hotter isn't always better - it's about teaching our guests to take smaller sections, turn down the heat, use tension (a comb or brush) and slow down! Thanks for your comment!

    Katie D. I used to teach my clients to just pull the hair over their shoulder and iron what they could reach since you usually don't see much of the hair closer to the scalp when the hair is down. Once you get to the top crown area, then you can tip your head forward and get a little closer on the top where you can see more of the hair

    The cup Rapmon throws in the Run MV this is the best advice. or get your man to do it for you, lol! for some reason, my bf is happy to help me dye my hair (esp back of my head) but he despises helping me straighten the back. probably because it's such a pain in the ass to do, especially when you're not sure what the hell you're doing...

    These tips are all really useful, especially the 'chasing a comb with flat iron'. Its pretty easy. I'll add a tip : use a small round brush instead of comb. My straightening improved a lot after using these tips (though i use 210 degrees. I naturally have semi straight hair).
