I have a flat coated retriever right now she is 9 years old and every characteristic that you have described, she has. Except she has an upturned tail. I found her at an animal shelter when she was 8 weeks old. My life got even better when I got her.

We just added this breed to our family. She’s a wonderful girl, for her from a shelter and she is such a snuggly dog. And she LOVES to run first thing in the morning.

I’m getting a flat coat in a few months to be a multipurpose service dog. Can’t wait to bring him home!

I think my dog is part flat coat and Aussie Shepard. Her tail curls upward and her ears sit up a bit higher on the side of the head. The ears are also a little bit smaller then a golden retriever. The people who had her on Craigslist listed her as a black golden retriever. Knowing about flats I figured she was part black lab and flat coat. A dog dna kit is about 200 bucks. No thanks, I will pass. It’s not that important. She is my best friend no matter what. Gotta go now so I can go give her a big ass hug .. love your dog everyone
