I miss our Molly Mae, that looks like yours. She passed away in 2019 after 14 years of love, joy, kid fun, and outdoor adventures as my constant companion. Rescued from a horrible fate during Hurricane Katrina, Molly quickly embedded herself into our family, and friends lives. Watching these videos of others Flat Coats, gets me choked up with memories of my own.

Beautifully presented video & lovely to hear how Jenny 'interviews' prospective owners. The breeds intrinsic behaviours are wonderful but they love having a job to do to channel their energy.

Wonderful video. I grew up with flatcoats, and my parents have one now too. They are the best dogs imaginable! I hope to have my own flattie in the future!

Rupert My old cavalry officer commanding had an Irish Setter called Rupert named after the dashing cavalier Prince Rupert and his regiment of Blue Coats. Nephew of Charles 1. Scourge of the Puritanical Ironsides. A great name for an aristocratic breed especially in a cavalry regiment.

They are the best breed of dog, hands down. They need a ton of attention and exercise / mental stimulation though so it's great to see responsible breeders vetting potential owners. There's nothing more destructive than a bored, understimulated flattie.

Would love to get a flat coat 1 day soon. My current Golden is a senior and I want to give her the best I can until the end.

The Flat Coat is a very active dog. Be prepared for long hikes, jogs, hours at the lake or river, and so much unconditional love, that it will astound you.

Im looking to get a FlatCoated puppy, but I live in Mexico. What do you suggest for me to find a breeder that could help me with this process? there are no breeders in Mexico.

How much for one on East Coast USA?

Are they good to be an assistance dog/ service dog?

They are. They tend to be a bit more reactive than Labs and Goldens though. Its their silly temperament. But they are super empathic and willing to work hard for their person
