SweptAway529: Great minds think alike. This song is better than "Self Control" yet "Self Control" got tons of airplay and is the song for which Laura will always be remembered.

​@@psychcorp4449 Self Control was huge, but so was Gloria - so perhaps the two most noteworthy tracks for her. According to wiki, the third and final single release from the Flashdance soundtrack was Lady, Lady, Lady. Maybe there were licensing issues between the record labels in releasing Imagination?

I think it is because sometimes songs part of a soundtrack cannot be released in another album or even as singles.

Remember seeing this movie first time it hit the theaters. Didn't realize then that the creativity and intensity of these dancing scenes would never be repeated. At least to me nothing ever since has made the same impact.

I wonder why they never put this on Laura's greatest hits albums. It sure was one of her best. Incredible vocals and guitar playing

one of my favorite scenes from this movie , it’s pure art 👏🏼

I love how the club owner comes out and shakes his head in disbelief. I also enjoy his reaction when the strobe lights go on! Pure gold!

One of the most creative dance movies of all time in a classic it’s own. So original authentic and a time capsule into 80s pop culture

The choreographer deserves all the awards for this entire movies dance segments👍🏻

They never gave the choreographer proper credit. People thought that was Jennifer Beales dancing. The wigs and open shots were great if they though that.

Possibly the best dance scene I've ever watched in a movie. Way ahead of it's time.

That dancer was phenomenal. At least, she got some credit years after the movie release.

Laura Brannigan sang the hell out of this song. She had such a powerful voice. This is quite a dance scene, that woman can dance. Artsy creative scene there.🎉

It's crazy for me to say this, I do now own this soundtrack on vinyl. All the songs in this album is very interesting, unlike all the crappier music they play nowadays. Records are slowly making a comeback.

ojcorn89 I was in third grade when Flashdance came out and the soundtrack was the very first record album I bought in my life with my own money. I vacuumed my entire house everyday for two months to earn the allowance to buy it and I remember how it exciting it was the day my mom took me to Tower records to finally get. It was my favorite album for years and my neighbor and I used to play it constantly trying to recreate the dance routines from the film. Good times! Wish I still had that album even though it would probably be too scratched up to play now.

If there is one song that showcases Laura's vocal talents, this one is it. Tremendous!

This scene is everything! So simple but at the same time so modern and effective !

Great song sung by Lauran Branigan and this dance sequence is AWESOME. I love at the end when the guitar solo kicks in.

The Soundtrack alone for this movie made millions. The Song LADY LADY LADY still puts me in a trance today in 2024. 🥰😍

The 80s was a great time with Flashdance, Footloose & Fame such good times with great friends and memories I miss those days

Hell of a movie. Top notch soundtrack and choreography. I was living in Pittsburgh when this was filmed. The actual French dancer was fabulous. I met her at Gimbel’s or Kaufman’s Department Store. Laura Branigan was the best vocalist for this movie.

I went to the 7 o’clock showing. I stayed thru the credits at the end of the movie. I was so memorized, I stayed in my seat for the next showing. ( you could do stuff like that back then.) Plus, the strobe light in the full theater was AMAZING!!

By far my favorite Laura Branigan song.

Fabulous. Pure 80's. Great watching the DVD with the lights off fir this track, the strobe sequence is great.

Great album. Lots of videos. Great memories.

A Flashdance musical premiered in the UK back in 2008 and toured the US for a few years but never hit Broadway.

I hear the amazing guitar riff because she air guitars to it in her dance.. Also notice the kabuki style, the flash and her shadow, dancing. Thanks for posting this video.

I loved this movie as a kid this made me want to dance! I have the soundtrack to this movie and I miss the 80s Jennifer Beals was a star in this and this movie is a classic I also love the 80s b/c everyone was dancing in the streets and everyone was happy! Now everything sucks now! I hate 21st century! RIP Laura Branigan she was an icon!

My mom had this soundtrack when I was growing up and I used to love listening to it.

This is the best dance routine and special effects scene in the whole movie. Awesome presentation!

This was absolutely hands down her best song ever and the best track from flash dance ...this scene and performance was EVERYTHING & MORE ...was So ahead of its time

I like this part up to those flashing lights. They're migraine inducing, which is such a shame because it would look so cool for those who don't suffer from these types of headaches. I can imagine that looking pretty cool in a theater. They light up my entire living room when I watch the film.

Best song on a soundtrack full of them. The dance, the tune, and Laura’s voice fit together perfectly.

Yes, but they did try to hide it with the white make-up. Which almost could have worked if they'd had the exact same body type, but they really didn't.

I grew up watching this movie. It was a favorite still love it!!

Her first dance with the splash theme, water everywhere, getting everyone wet, then the strobe lights, absolutely pure talent. Surprised that bar didn't catch fire, with all that commotion.,I've watched this movie on VHS , thousand of minutes, that the tape got worn out starting playing slower, thank goodness for the internet, so I can watch in hd.

Beautiful track - great harmonies.

If they danced like this in strip clubs I might have gone to more.

When I started dancing when I was 21-26 I always wanted to do this. Sadly most never got the art of the erotic. They just wanted to see tits and ass. No surprise but still.
