    6:41 actually if you're in high-speed sync mode, lowering the shutter speed does improve your flash output (making it brighter), until you reach your camera's standard sync speed (i.e. 1/200s) then it doesn't anymore, so you could have done that instead of sacrificing your image quality to a higher ISO

    So if I were in a situation where I was getting great exposure at 320 ISO and 1/1000 shutter, I would dial down the ISO to 100 and make up for the loss of exposure by slowing the shutter speed down to maybe 1/800. Am I missing something? I would understand if slowing the shutter may introduce motion blur but at 1/800 I don't think that would happen.

    Great advice Vanessa! Looked a little too orange for me on my phone but that's probably just my phone. I like when you use a full CTO and a half on top. Again, personal preference. I'm going to try this tonight on my engagement shoot I have! I'll be using my speedlite. Will update in the Discord with my results and if it worked or not!

    not necessarily, it's definitely orange, but it's a specific look. Some people shoot like this and keep the orange behind her but take it out of her skin tone, or desaturate a little. To each their own. :-) looking forward to seeing you results!

    At 9:41 Vanessa shows her most favourite shot taken at f2.0 1/1000sec and ISO800 using HSS. To me this not a smart way, since f2.0 1/125sec ISO 100 is the same exposure. However the flash would me much more powerful, as HSS is adverted. This would allow for moving the flash much more backwards with would result in a more believable picture.

    Good point. Ihave the 135f2 and it is hard to get non camera shaken shots with less than 1/500 for some reason.

    @andreasstolten9179

    @@southerncharity7928 Even with a longer lens like the 2.0/135mm you may shoot at 1/125sec: the background is out of focus and therefore not prone to camera shake at all and the main subject is frozen by the flash (as long as the exposposure is dominated by the flash by a stop or more).

    Hi, Love the lighting. I am only starting with 1 light set up i have a ad200pro, I also have a Canon 580ex. which I cant use with the god trigger. so i am only going to be using a God flash with a mag mod set. I was hoping to get the same effect that you got with one flash. but maybe I will have to wait some time for another flash. can you still get a reasonable shot with the sunset using one flash? as I haven't tried as yet, am waiting for for my mag mod kit to come.

    Thanks for the shooting, personally I was more interested how you helped posing your model, until now I had the experience. BTW serious investments lately or a loyal sponsor, the sticker from new out of the box still on the screen of your ProPhoto trigger. Be careful there were some 'ugly' characters trying to steal the show in your back, an APB on a certain D.... could be effective. See/hear you next time.

    @@VanessaJoy thanks for your reply, two things the comment about the film was more a ill fated attempt for humour, secondly your are fully right to leave this kind of film on screens , I myself experienced in several occasions that this kind of film just gave my gear the required protection the time for me to release I was exposing the screen to a abrasive surface. Sure for certain repairs you can take insurances but they can be expensive seeing the risks taking into account about your business model and your business performance. Enjoy the remaining of your weekend.
