Great video! The AF assist works on the R5C with the EL-1. I can see the red grid on people when I'm shooting dark receptions.Just an FYI

I completely agree with you about the exposure bracketing. I always set mine up to -0+ instead of 0-+.

Nice tutorial, sir. Sadly, the super pro double-shutter tap to toggle the modeling lamp doesn't work when in wireless mode.

So helpful, thank you! That red flashing light was killing me! Question - have you had any issues with the connection dropping from the transmitter? I have the ST-E3-RT version 1 transmitter and it's dropping all the time. Tried changing channels, etc. thank you.

Ditto here, wireless has become absolute garbage. It seems more so since I upgraded to canon r5 mirrorless. I’ll constantly have dropped connection on a single speedlite/group, at some venues the RT system barely works.

Splendido, Roberto! 😁 I would guess (I'm good at guessing, but I'm good at failing too) that the odd numbering scheme on the settings are so that you can save and reload settings and do so between slightly different pieces of equipment (and menu choices) without altering something in completely crazy ways. I learned a ton through this video, so a massive thanks for that! The screen on the EL-1 is quite big and you would think that they would be able to add enough information and have it informative enough to make sense and be logical, but they're not really there. BTW: You did mention creating another video about the P.Fn's on the EL-1, I might have missed that one... You have a link to that? (I do have the instruction manual, but it doesn't come with your commentary)

Is there a custom function that makes Canon’s RT more reliable. Been having nothing but trouble past few years with either 600ex’s or EL-1’s loosing link during events/receptions on multiple groups. Have tried scanning manually for a good channel or setting to AUTO channel. I’ll just have a single group/speedlite just stop linking and sometimes come in and out intermittently and in close proximity as well. Getting close to getting rid of these flashes and going to cheaper Godox system, super frustrating!

Unfortunately, these flashes operate at a 2.4 very common gigahertz frequency. This introduces signal contamination, and the flashes lose their connection. You'll have to turn them off and on again to regain connection. You can also do a custom scan of the available channels and see if that helps a bit.

@roberto dumb question i have EL-1 now how in the hell to you get them to trigger in Slave optical now its reciever yeah but cannot trigger.
