But he just seems uncomfortable the whole time, and he doesn’t have any interest in destroying her as a person. He’s there for the right reasons, for the kids.

Sarah Leyva Pike was arrested in Maine and extradited to Amelia County, VA on charges of solicitation of the murders of circuit court Judge Joseph M. Teefey Jr., his wife, attorney Brooke Teefey, and Amelia Sheriff Ricky Walker, making a threat in writing, and another threat to bomb or burn a public building. In Nov 2023 she requested a jury trial. At that hearing, the case was continued to Jan 25 and 26 for the trial. --> And that is how she is doing right now. Father has the children; they are safe, happy, and loved. She has no contact.

Clearly, many people in these comments have had little experience with "Childrens' Services" storming in (usually late at night) with the scantiest of evidence (if any) and ripping children -- crying and screaming in terror -- from their parents' arms. The entire system, with the intent of erring on the side of keeping children safe, judges the accused as guilty and requires them to then somehow prove their innocence against the tide that already has judged them guilty. Even Mike made the idiotic comment, "Oh yeah, then why don't you have custody of your kids?" as if that somehow proved guilt. These so-called childrens' "services" cause horrific trauma to the children and are never accountable for what they do. Anyone who pretends to know what is true here is just foolish. You don't. And anyone who pretends to know that the children are better off torn from their lives and their home to be thrown into the spin cycle of State custody is just ignorant. And if you are with the TRULY STUPID who believe that these self-righteous prejudging child kidnappers are never wrong, then disregard anything I have written because it won't reach a reasoning brain cell anyway.

That usually drives me nuts too, but now I've seen a few instances, like this one, where I feel like it's at least somewhat intentional. It's as if the judge has some idea what kind of person they're dealing with (based on the previous motions, court interactions and that they're representing themselves) and the judge realizes the futility of responding as they would with any normal person in their midst, and also wants to allow the person to show themselves on record. Either way it requires some serious patience to deal with people like that.

They should have put her on mute the moment she started interrupting everyone. I've seen other judges do it, and it's frankly the only way anything got done with people like her who can't even wait to hear an entire sentence before objecting. (also the fact she objects before they can complete a sentence is very telling about her motives and innocence; if you can prove you're innocent why would it matter if they finish speaking? she's not aiming to refute them but silence them, probably the same way she kept her husband oppressed in the household.. shouting over him and telling him he's wrong and has no place to say what he does) You can tell she has no respect for the court system and just wants to see how she can use it to demand respect for *herself.*

For what it’s worth - from Reddit: “Hi. I am a KZreadr who did a deep dive on Sarah's case for the purposes of supporting her I contacted her via email for a copy of the evidence folder she advertises on her TikTok and she provided it to me. Her story was extremely compelling however once I reviewed the documentation I dropped the entire project as I could not frame this in any way that would make her look good without lying about what I found. The Texas family court has a pretty bad reputation when it comes to seperating children from thier parents. A lot of these stories are absolutely heartbreaking. This is not one of those cases. The hardest part of sorting all of this out was figuring out how the things Sarah was saying during the hearings related to what was actually going on. She has a tendancy to skip steps in her thought processes which makes it difficult for 3rd parties to follow along. There is what she is saying, and there is what she means and the two do not always align unless you've studied the timeline, the court videos, as well as her social media posts. I will do my best to elaborate. For example, one of her videos is a hearing is to force the recusal of the judge overseeing her case however during the video she does not provide any legal justification for the recusal of Judge Wells. She instead attempts to retry her child custody issue starting from the arbitration agreement. That is not the purpose of this hearing but she believes that going higher up will get her the results she wants, but it wont. She keeps refering to the "irrevocable mediated settlement" that she claims gave her the right to take the children out of state. Sarah has provided this to me directly upon request via email and she is incorrect. Everything that followed stems from that primary fundamental misunderstanding. Had she clearly states her intentions the arbitrator would have advised that they cannot grant it as a matter of law. She believes a personally requested addendum written in vague language that she requested be added to the arbitration agreement supercedes Texas state law, which it doesn't. No child custody arbitration agreement allows one parent to take a child out of state without the other's knowledge or permission. She is wrong about this and refuses to move forward on anything else until a court agrees to this which will never happen. What she refers to as "perjury" from child services is thier "unwillingness to admit that she outsmarted the texas family court system" by adhering to state law instead of the vague language addendum she requested. She has also conducted herself in a mannor which a reasonable person can only presume to be bad faith. In addition to constantly interrupting the proceedings and threatening to have her ex husband shot when he drove to virgina to see the boys, she attempts to include family court employees home addresses in her filings despite having zero relevance to the case. Whether this was done for the purposes of harassment or not, it would facilitate the harassment of family court employees. She has shared the courtroom zoom link with another activist in her circle, who was completely unrelated to the case, so he could actively disrupt the proceedings. I also suspect that she was involved in a DDoS attack on her ex husbands lawyer's office in another effort to disrupt and deprive him of his lawful representation during a hearing beefore a judge. There are steps she can take to regain access to her children. She simply refuses to engage with those steps or take any action to get them back through the system which is why her original attorney quit. I have a copy of those texts as well provided to me by Sarah herself. She now believs that her former lawyer is also a part of the conspiracy against her. I have reviewed every document and I can only reasonably conceive of two possible scenarios: Scenario 1 - Sara Pike is extremely intelligent and dangerous person who has found a way hack the court system to harass her ex husband, as well as the court staff who have rightfully sided with state law, while falsely interjecting herself into an activist circle with legitimate grievances in order to garner personal attention and build a career as an activist. Scenario 2 - She is mentally ill and is being enabled by strangers online.”

You know, I find most cases with insane, intractable defendants like these typically have a critical stage at the proceedings where the defendant seriously misunderstood something critical (which they refuse to consider as a possibility), and everything else flows from there.

When someone mischaracterizes and defames you, it is hard not to interrupt. The Judge understood that the derogatory comment triggered an instant response. Lawyers without integrity say crap fast, so there is a lot to respond to. Saying she absconded with the children DEMANDED an immediate response. The lawyer is not hurting children, but she is just as dirty, lying to the court that she kidnapped her children. Both sides are despicable!

Sometimes it makes sense to permit the brown mouth-torrent to continue. It establishes a scrupulous fairness, which could be important if the case should be reviewed on appeal -- she can't claim she was silenced or not allowed to present a case (with such a patently litigious participant, that's a serious consideration). Or perhaps there's a potential question of competency, and all that verbiage on the record provides the evidence to justify such a decision. For that matter, I imagine sometimes it's a legit move for an attorney to file a motion *knowing* it's going to be DOA, just to preserve an issue for appeal.

True fact: Some of the most dangerous, destructive, and difficult-to-treat forms of madness are so elaborately rationalized that they *seem* perfectly logical. People in the grip of these are generally nearly impossible to treat because they are convinced that all of this is obviously reasonable and the problem cannot possibly be with them. Well-educated people who go off the rails are particularly prone to this. Because what is higher education but training in presenting your beliefs (rational or not) in a rationally persuasive way?
