I approve of this re-imagining in that it feels a lot more appropriate to the fight. Flamelurker is a hulking mass of anger and fire. It rushes in to pummel you relentlessly, and even clipping it's body slightly can ignite you. This has the fight kind of pace and explosive energy the original fight had. So while this is very different from the original track, I feel this fits a lot better.

Have to disagree. The original fits the nihilistic and oppressive tone of Demon's Souls better. This feels more like a heroic struggle to me.

@@gravitydragon1904 I will agree that this does have a bit more energy to it, and a still suffers a bit of that "generic" quality that I dislike with a lot of this soundtrack. However, in regards to having the energy match the action on the scree, I do think this fits very well. The Flamelurker isn't a meandering fight, there's a lot of movement, you can't hold still, you have to rush in to get at the openings when they come and risk getting severely punished for lingering. That's why I felt this suited it a bit better.

@@Gakusangi Fair enough. I liked the juxtaposition of fighting this relentless enemy on the backdrop of funeral-like music. Sort of like the Gwyn fight. And the horns also evoke this feeling of being in a furnace of oppressive heat. But this one is not bad by any means. I do think the remake does some tracks better, but not most of them.

@@Gakusangi Yeah, especially Old Monk and Dirty Colossus. Those two are the biggest wtfs.

Beating this Guy had took a while. What an Epic Boss Fight that was.

Again this boss is extremely tough for any non-magic built. Easy as hell if you have strong magic attacks.

If I ever make a mallefic plan, this will be my music theme

My God, what a masterpiece. Idk why this reminds me of something in the prime of its power crashing down into history. I know it feels epic but it's almost sad..

The best music of demon's souls

Underated masterpiece

This theme is about as fitting as giving Artorias a fast-paced heroic theme. Flamelurker fight is supposed to be somber and tragic. You are not fighting just a demon, you are releasing a hero from its eternal torment. It's a mercy kill. A grotesque fusion of man and ore, it suffers, demonstrated by his agonic growls and grunts. What is BluePoint's take? Heroically fight the generic magma demon in a Diablo-like arena with heroic music and make it roar in rage cause it's just a generic magma demon with no lore

Bluepoint are criminals. You are exactly right. They did not understand Demon's Souls one bit. Or worse--they understood it, they didn't like it, and they changed it because of course they knew better.

@@DiaomBayet Lol, what is this dumb strawman dude. It's a remake that barely changes anything, doesn't fix the real problems with the game (there are many things I wanted changed), and then fixes what was never broken. It's like several wrongs piled on top of each other.

I beat this dude on my first try, the music was insane!

@@youngedge746 ive seen the original gameplay and it seems that is was definitely harder to tell what’s actually going on. But it definitely still seems like a fun fight even with the visual obscurity.

it IS good, I just wish the remake tracks were more centered around the original themes that made these bosses memorable. For this I mean specifically 2:31 - these 13 notes on brass (repeated twice for total of 26) are the core of old Flamelurker's theme and here they just are kinda there

2:49 - 3:02 is my favorite part

I personally love the reimagined version of this ost, so much so to the point where i had it playing on loop for 10 hours after i beat the game. The original ost is really good and i can see why someone would like that more but it’s no excuse to say this ruined the original and the remake is trash

This song feels more accurate than the original, but overall the Remake Soundtrack is really bad compared to the original, they should add an "Original Soundtrack" toggle

That choir peak at 3:51 had me peaking. 🥵

I will die on this hill. Yes, this OST is miles better than the OG one. It fits to the fight more. While the OG one is good, it would fit to a slower paced fight, but not to Flamelurker.

Then you don't understand the original. The Flamelurker is not an epic Diablo demon or a Doom enemy. It's a sad ruined man with a melting face. You're there to put him out of his misery, not to have a heroic battle for the ages. The new music makes the same mistake as you by misunderstanding the fight, and Demon's Souls in general.

@@neamraven Demon’s Souls lore is open interpretation. Not what you tell others it is. If someone wants to perceive it as an epic showdown of the ages that involves taking down a monstrous demon mutant, then lettem. Ceaseless Discharge has literally the same concept but his fight isn’t portrayed in the sad and depressing way you think Flamelurker’s should be

Underrated theme

It's a really cool track but imo this doesn't fit the vibe of the fight. This sounds tragic, powerful, mournful. Like a heroic figure, fallen from grace, now a servant of the dark. Flamelurker isn't tragic, he's terrifying, a demon of the old world, meant to be a bodyguard to the heretical dragon god. He's more like a Balrog than a tragic figure.

Well actually, he was a man who corrupted by the demons, pretty tragic lore. His face was melted, personality burnt, body deformed. And now he’s completely gone, all there is now is just a vessel. Once man, now demon.

2:31 it always makes me sad to hear this part, they ALMOST got the dread of the original right but then its right back to generic fantasy garbo

The generic fantasy music is fine by itself, but the original fits perfectly with the feeling of the game. the art design, music and gameplay all managed to combine into a 1:100000 hidden gem. If you play games to just relax and have fun that's great but if you think games can be experiences/pieces of art then you will like the original better
