    I'm French and Malagasy (so a whiblasian ?) and yes there are a lot of "fady". One my grandfather told to me and my sisters (common to told it to children to scare them) is to not watch a zebu in the eyes or you'll be cursed.

    That's not actually Osaka Castle on the postcard. It's Himeji Castle, which is in Himeji (go figure), about 90 minutes by non-bullet train from Osaka. Unlike Osaka Castle, which is a ferroconcrete reconstruction, Himeji Castle is one of the few original castles still standing in Japan and one of five designated as a National Treasure. It's WAY more impressive than what stands for Osaka Castle today (which is basically just a castle shaped museum built less than 50 years ago).

    Hey Barb, my grandma went to madagascar when I was still a baby, but she told me stories of people still wiping their butts with their bare hands. Even though they would wash the hand, the country all used the same hand so there are some weird customs about what hand to do what with(like not shaking hands with the poop hand). I could totally be remembering this wrong, so if someone knows more feel free to correct me.
