Just a question dude, as soon you had made the first adjust with the 1st cylinder at tdc with the valves loose and in the 6 cyllinder tight, when you make the 360° turn the valves at the 6 cylinder must to be loose and the 1st tight?

Yes, Either 1st or 6th is tight at TDC and it flips on the next 360. I didn't need to do the initial 360 but I wanted to follow instructions in the FSM and start with adjusting 1st cylinder.

How long roughly do you think you have before the engine is considered cold again?

good question... in reality, you really don't care too much about the engine, it's the push rods that should be warm as they are the ones that will get elongated when warm. My opinion is 20-30 min.

You do this with a warm engine?

Yes, it has to be warmed up so you have accurate measurements for a warm engine. rods shrink when cold so measurements wouldn't be valid. This is an EFI engine so you can't run it with the valve cover off... I've tried.

Best advice I can give is to go on iH8MUD.com. You'll be able to search and find a link to a copy for any LC engine.
