As I’ve mentioned before, the best way to prepare is to go out and simulate your adventure as much as possible, this time I’m bringing Albert with me for his first multi day hiking adventure. Fjällräven classic Denmark is the perfect adventure to start with if you’re new to hiking or if you bring your kids.

The Next Step In The Classic Journey
Passing castles, manors, mills and churches that time seems to have forgotten; through forests filled with life; over undulating farmland and with the coastline never far away, this 75km-trail is a mixture of nature’s and people’s best creations.
The Fjällräven Classic concept started in northern Sweden in 2005. After many successful years and a growing number of participants, we decided to add a new classic in Denmark. In 2014 the inaugural event had just a few hundred participants, mainly Danes. In 2019 this number was 1000 and counted trekkers from 37 different countries.
The trek in Denmark is roughly 35km shorter than the Swedish original and is completed over three days. While there’s no free camping, the three campsites are hubs of life come nightfall. Here you can share stories and experiences from the trail.
The trek follows part of Denmark’s South Funen Archipelago Trail, from Faldsled harbour to Bjørnemose (in 2022: Skårupøre). We take care of the logistics - food, transfers, checkpoints, support and even a few little treats along the way - but you’ll carry everything you need on your back. You’ll move at a pace that suits you, soak up plenty of ‘me time’ and even make new friends along the way. Classic Denmark is the continuation of the Classic legacy. It’s our chance to show you that you don’t need to travel far and wide to find nature. In fact, nature is often right on your doorstep.

It is so cool that Albert is going on his first official adventure with you. He doesn't say much but he seems happy about joining you. It won't be long before he will be carrying the big pack for you 😊I was wondering the same thing about all of the cows in your videos lately too 😂 I hope you two have a great time at the Fjällräven Classic Denmark. @@TedWeirum Verkligen! Utmaningen låg mest i att faktiskt utföra något som jag bestämt. Känslan när jag var klar var helt fantastisk. Sen var resan där i mellan både svettig, vidrig och smått underbar. Men nu vet jag att jag både kan och vill, så nästa tur är redan i planeringsstadiet. Tack bror!

Been doing the Denmark classic for years and then the year that you attend is the one i am missing. He will defintly be able to do the Danish walk. I can give some spoilers for the walk that will help you, so don't read if you want to experience it day by day. Day 1 make sure to take breaks, it's the one that has the highest hill climb but also the best view! depending on when you arrive at the overnight camp, see if you can get a tent space near the bottom of the hill, it has shade during the morning. Day 2, make sure you have your bathing cloths nearby, you will be walking right by the ocean for a large part of the mid day and it's nice to be able to jump into the water to cool down. The last trek is on asphalt and up hill except the last 1 km, that's uphill in the forest. The camp area is on a hill so it can be tough finding a flat area to sleep, so keep that in mind. Day 3, starts in the shade of a large forest and then transitions to more and more urban walks the closer to the afternoon evening, but Svendborg is a beautyful city.

Train hard fight easy! (Carrying 10k 😂) summer is one of the seasons i dread on backpacking. Always extra hot, it’s a nightmare to go to sleep as well . Hope there is a lot of water in Denmark!

10 kgs is good for the little man! There’s usually a weigh in at the start so I’ll see if can get the exact weight before we go! I agree, summer = bugs and sweat! :)

Summer temps vary greatly depending on where you are in the world. Denmark gets warm but I do not believe that it gets extremely hot as it does in some of the southern areas of the globe. Although, the way the weather has been lately, it is hard to say for sure anymore. If it is too hot where you backpack, you might want to try heading further north on some of your adventures.

Agree! Also our bodies have a way of adapting the to the surroundings regard temperatures, I know we’re going to be sweating a lot for sure!

hahaha, best question so far! no brother, absolutely not! the most important is that you show up and have a positive attitude and really enjoy it! you'll find all kind of brands there, it's a great place for people to meet and learn new things!

@@TedWeirum The question was meant in a kind of ironic way but in all of the videos of this trek you can see fjällräven stuff all over the place. 😉 I am from northern Germany and my wife and I just got into hiking. Denmark is just 1 hour from our location so we will try to attend the next trek that will take place there. Thanks for your reply by the way. P. S. I still don't understand why your videos have such a small following. Your video quality is top notch and your presentation and experience sharing is totally relatable. Keep the good stuff coming!
