Nice video! I too have learned the hard way how important it is to take proper care of your feet. My personal quick-tips for anyone interested: Take good care of your feet many weeks prior to your hike (remove dead skin and use a good foot creme every night right before you go to sleep), if you easily get blisters like me use double socks (a liner sock and a hiking sock. I thought it was some silly rumour, but it turned out to do magic for me!), consider pre-taping your feet before your hike to prevent blisters (I use Kinesiotape but I'm looking into trying Leukotape) and bring a lot of quality blister patches like compeed (they are really expensive but worth it. The cheap ones are really not in my experience) and of cause maybe most important of all get a good pair of boots/shoes and tie them properly! As a side note I have started to lose weight. I was never a big guy, but I wouldn't take any harm from trimming off some kilos either. I thought to myself "if I could take away 10-15kg from my backpack... that would change a lot for the condition of my feet" and then I realised that I could actually save my feet from those kilos by "simply" losing weight. It was and still is a good motivator for me to get off the couch and get a little healthier ;-P There's a lot of good advises out there on how to take care of your feet. I highly recommend looking into the subject since it can be a complete game changer, as it was for me on my trips! Happy hiking!

Yeah, it’s something else being out there, all other problems go away for a while and you’re in the moment, really important to disconnect from everyday life and reconnect with yourself and nature. Hope you’ll get a chance to do it soon again Elvis!

She's a true fighter, I told her many many times before we came to prepare and we we're able to do so a bit but not enough.

Did the part of Kunglsaden you are at but never went to Kebnekaise , pretty cool to see what I've missed.

Agreed! lesson learned there, she did borrow walking sticks on some paths during the hike, I think the overall prep needed to be better!

thanks Ted for both videos from this journey. the weight of the camera gear can by quite challenging, so thanks for that as well...drone shots was amazing. One question..did you have spare batteries for your main camera?

Thank you! yes I did, 3 extra batteries for the drone but only 1 extra for the main camera, I thought it would be enough but yeah... we keep learning... :)

I found trekking poles really helped for walking over the rocky terrain with a heavy load. Much better balance. I was also there and although I did not see you guys I recognise some of the people you have filmed.

En fråga; står lite i valet och kvalet mellan att köpa ett par Hanwag Tatra-kängor eller ett par motsvarande från Meindl och tänkte höra om du har någon erfarenhet av Meindl-kängor?

Jag hade kört på Tatra-kängorna alla dagar i veckan, inte bara för kvalitén på själva kängan utan också för hela tillverkningsprocessen, den är världsklass! dra in till naturkompaniet och testa ett par så visar dom dig exakt hur de ska sitta och ger dig andra bra tips på vägen också!

Thanks for the inspiration. Does anyone fly fish any of those rivers or creeks? Looks like some of those areas may hold Trout or Grayling?

they do in and around those areas, never seen anyone do it so close to the trail, but there are lakes "nearby" where people go fishing!

Ted, a great film and adventure! Out of curiosity, do you have any experience or knowledge about the fjallraven Vidda Pro Ventilation Trousers? Kebs weren't cutting it for me for a few reasons and the regular Viddas were too stiff... the Ventilations have a gusseted crotch made of stretch fabric. Thanks for all the reviews you've already done!

Oh perfect!! Yea the kebs stretch fabric, after using them on a canoe trip where it rained, just took so long to dry, twice if not three times as long as the g-1000, and I missed having a loop for my ax! Thanks!

When did u guys did this trip? My husband and I are thinking to do it as well.

Hi Ted, I love hiking, the longest I walked in the mountain (Norway) was only 4.5hrs. I am a shitbreak and totally dead meat if I don't know where I can do my call. Do you have any tips how and where you do this toilet things? TQ

Hey! That can be a problem, I’m always cautious with what I eat when I’m out besides that it’s about planning and knowing your body, study the maps of the areas that you’re in, find places that got toilets and plan your route accordingly. If you’re in an area with no toilet then make it as comfortable for yourself as you can, I mean we did do this in nature not too long ago. :) of course bring a small shovel, toilet paper and wet wipes.. find a remote place and then fire away good luck! Don’t forget to clean up afterwards :)

So there is an actual pathway running the entire distance? Some of the landscape is nice and other parts were difficult. The checkpoints are not as rewarding as warm pie and ice cream lodges would have been Instead of just an old station.

Yeah there’s a path going through pretty much the whole Swedish mountain range. I think the pancake station was really nice! :)

Ja, hon är en riktig kämpe, jag visste att hon skulle klara det, vet dock inte om hon visste det själv. Vi försökte förbereda oss så gott det gick men ja, med allt annat i livet är det ibland svårt. kommer gå in på det mer i kommande videos!

It would be better if you filmed in 60fps. That shot where you pan around the camera to follow the river is so jerky. If you film in 60 fps it would be smooth, and we can actually see some details. Just saying

Sure brother, there’s a lot of things one could have done better, I know that 60 fps would make it smoother, I could also have brought a tripod, even more batteries and a second camera. I’ll give 60 fps a chance the next time!

@@TedWeirum yes, please do. But if it takes up to much memory on your camera, take an extra SD card as well. I really like your video's tho, this was just something I wanted to let you know. I am going to Norway tomorrow, 15 days backpacking. The nature is similar to Sweden, but just more mountains and fjords. I love fjallraven, and Scandinavia!
