Like, the taunts are all pretty damn solid, but why on Earth does Rex not flinch when they get hit during it??? Them feeling each other's pain is literally a core story element of Xenoblade 2!

I just wish they'd kept the voice lines from Sonic's Brawl taunts. Honestly, "You're too slow!" and "Come on, step it up!" are so much more fitting to his personality. I mean sure, they at least kept the "Come on!" part of that one, but completely replacing the other with "Sonic speed!" was a huge mistake. I legitimately cringe every time I hear it. Literally one of the first mods I installed was fixing that taunt's dialogue.

This was removed because they changed actors, and the nature of Smash wouldn't allow him to record more lines, so they had to use lines from the game.

It would’ve been so cool and unique if for Joker’s down taunt specifically (the one where Joker turns away from the camera with his gun in his hand and poses), it could cycle through each member of the Phantom Thieves in order of joining the party to pose with Joker. The first time the button is pressed can be with Morgana as usual, the next time it can be with Ryuji, the third can be with Ann, the fourth can be with Yusuke, the fifth can be with Makoto, the sixth can be with Futaba (outside the final smash), the seventh can be with Haru, the eighth can be with Akechi while Joker looks back angrily and finally the ninth time can be Joker posing with Sumire while smiling back at her and then the cycle loops back to Morgana the next time the down taunt button is pressed. Plus it can be a reference to the confidant menu in P5 where Joker is looking back at the confidant in the menu screen.

@@threeworldheroes The addition of Sophia, Zenkichi and Erina would be nice, but those characters were made well after Joker was in Smash so it’s up in the air on the possibility. Though to be fair, my idea proposing Sumi would be a stretch since Royal was merely teased when Joker was officially released as a DLC fighter. Though also to be fair we did get a Sophia Spirit later down the line with Strikers on Switch so it wouldn’t shock me if they updated Joker to include the spin off characters too.

That REGULAR Samus taunt is incredibly tilting though. It’s like she’s mocking mario, 10/10

Bowser’s voicelines in Smash as a whole are just awful, same with DK. They just sound like big monsters, and not the characters with personality that they’re supposed to be. This rings true for Diddy Kong as well.

Personally feel like Futaba should have gotten at least a voice line in one of Joker's taunts. I get that she's the navigator, but the fact that she isnt on Mementos AND she has to share half of the Final Smash voice clips with Morgana, who is already all over the place... yeah.

the coolest part of taunts has got to be the fact that Incineroar auto-taunts after landing certain moves which makes sense for its showboating nature

The funny thing, Wolf has the same VA in Brawl and Ultimate but they went for a different voice direction hence getting rid of the iconic "What's the matter, scared?" but seeing this is nice.

Giving Daisy the spicy ass taunt was bar none the best one: made her look badass AND adorable at the same time. I especially loved the little detail where she has to fan her hand because she burned herself ON HERSELF. THAT'S classy, I love it.

5:23 Cool thing is, Wolf’s voice actor actually stayed the same in both Brawl and Ultimate. They unfortunately didn’t keep any of his previous takes other than the howl, but it’s understandable since they wanted him to sound completely different. Down taunt was a crime though.

I can imagine a few Taunt ideas Dunk hunt can have one where the dog is chasing his own tail while the duck is being super annoyed. King K Rool can have a taunt that makes him say "Ah! Thank You!" From the Dk64 Boss fight. The Miis can have one where they're Bodies gets replaced with the bodies from Wii Sports. And of Course give Dedede a laugh that makes him use his iconic anime laugh.

7:36 Dark Samus somehow shifted her thumb put it down, you can see that her arm doesn't twist at all.

Impressive animation. I would personally add a pikachu taunt that flashes between Raichu and back, basically temporally using the thunderstone. Could be a neat idea with a little flash. Would mean me having to learn animating, but I can use that for other projects as well, so it is just a first project type.

Amazing video~ Daisy's "hot stuff" taunt would be giga perfect. There's even a mod out there where this taunt was implemented and the longer you held it the steam from Daisy's ass would actually ignite and explode and do damage, even kill at high percentage! I'm such a big Daisy fan it would be so sick and funny to see this in game but at the very least a "HI I'M DAISY" line would help her personality and references be seen 🧡

I would like to see a similar taunt change for Sheik done for Young Link where he plays the Ocarina, and the tune he plays is Saria's theme. I would like to see some taunts for Wario's classic costume, that reference Wario Land and more specifically Wario World, where he could say lines like "I'm A Number 1" or could eat a piece of garlic and say okay. Reverting what Sonic says during his down taunt and side taunt back to what he said in Brawl would be awesome, I would abuse Sonic saying "You're Too Slow" and "Come On, Step It Up" so much. This type of discussion is a true rabbit hole for gamers, and I love it.

I'm still baffled that "Hi I'm Daisy!" wasn't chosen. Like... yeah I know that one would be INSANELY annoying when spammed... but its an iconic line. Would be like not letting Waluigi say, "Waluigi Time" 😔 Also... Jason Griffith > Roger Craig Smith for Sonic every time man. He just captured Sonic's cocky nature so much better. And the taunt lines show that.

@@knux333jw The thing is, he wasn’t casted for smash 4 either. They used existing lines from generations and colours. Which is why the lines might feel like they don’t belong in this game, because they weren’t recorded for any fighting game.

Tbh Olimar stretching with the pikmin could be more of an idle animation rather than a taunt. For an actual new taunt i'd say that replace the 2 jumpings for the little victory spin dance and pose he did at the end of Occupational hazards (that pikmin short movie)

Actually Nick, Wolf does have the same VA. It’s just that instead of the Adventures trilogy Wolf, the Wolf in Ultimate is 64/Zero Wolf who has a much different demeanor than Adventures trilogy Wolf so his VA responded in kind.

Damn this was extremely well done!
