Happy Mother's Day, Kathy. It would be cool to have a portable conveyor belt system on a small trailer that you could pull around with the Kubota. Those conveyors could lift all of the dirt to the roof using a swivel base so you could direct it, like the blower chute attachment on your snow blower. The tractor would be used to load the dirt & rocks onto the conveyor so there'd be no manual labor and you might be able to use the tractor's PTO to operate the conveyor belt instead of a separate motor. Good to see you both and take care, guys.

I've learned to build pulley systems for all of my heavy lifting (puff..puff..wheeze). Or...more folks for a bucket brigade. You know we are always available.

Hand tamper would be nice to tamp the dirt a bit as you fill it. They use them for hyper adobe builds.

Yup been there. We are draining better but have yet to pass a monsoon rain test. We will get that test soon enough though. Looks like a middle man will be needed for sure. Will be much safer and easier with a middle man for sure. Too bad you can't access that area with the tractor.

Hello you two, Rich, can't you build an extension for your tractor? I'm thinking something like one made of steel pieces about 10-15 feet long and a small platform or box at the end that would make it easier for you to get dirt and rocks up the hill. I don't know if your tractor has a quick coupler, because then you could get a base plate and weld the structure to it and always have it ready when you need it. Greetings from Berlin (fortunately we don't have that many insects here, I would emigrate easily)

Is there some sort of geo-fabric available that could shed most of the rain water but let the grass grow through it? Then a single layer of rocks almost to the top to anchor it all down? You might recruit a bunch of body builders for a day for the bucket brigade. Another meaning for rock 'n roll! Lol

@@CreatingASimplerLifeOffGrid Yeah, I saw that when you did it. I guess I was thinking a second layer on top, making a 'sandwich' that the grass could grow through while holding the soil in place. But as you know, mother nature is going to do what she wants. Lol

There are a couple videos of simple diy conveyor that people have built for moving dirt and gravel. They are made using 2x4 lumber, a drill, and duct tape - nothing fancy and only durable enough to get the job done. I will find the links and post them here.

Here is another, this fellow used duct tape for the belting material. Simple but not easy! kzread.info/dash/bejne/qHapl5axYsfSh7g.htmlsi=85TRTskL7Xvwe2dS

Hmm, the first link didn’t go through, here it is again. This is part 3, be sure to see their channel for part 1 and 2. They use two by fours and the belt is made from polyethylene plastic bag material that comes from the manufacturer in a long continuous role. The system is powered with a right angle drill. What is interesting to me is it that at any given time these conveyors are transporting just a few cups of material so it doesn’t need to be super strong or heavily engineered. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5qTqo9ydc6Xlc4.htmlsi=LqtWs2NvAUhkfd0b

Here is another, it uses a ladder as the frame and a treadmill for the locomotion. The belt is an agricultural component. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKh3qKSsmqi6cqg.htmlsi=0H6tJ_MZb11Dp99q
