A few years ago we made a detour and liked the area so much we sold the house in suburbia and built a cabin in the mountains. 😊 Next time you are in Utah travel HWY 6 between I-15 and Price take the turn off to Scofield. Beautiful little valley and lake. If the State Park sites are all taken we have full RV hookups at our place overlooking the lake (and excellent WiFi). You are welcome to stay and use the ATVs to ride the endless trails in the Manti La Sall National Forest. ❤

I prefer the videos to be chronological. I had intended on getting behind on videos, but did not intend to get this far ahead. If you don’t get at least a little bit ahead you end up needing to do “filler” videos during the winter. I like to keep our videos more travel centric. Appreciate the feedback, have a great day 🙏

Many years ago we made a little detour, there are no little detours in the west but anyway. We stopped at Monument Valley by what they call the Mittens at Gouldings RV, 40 spots and a little camp store. Main reason was to dress up like John Wayne and take a picture, big detour but worth it. Never made it back again, glad we did it. BTW I didn't look like the Duke after all but it was fun.

I guess we are tourists as we are not from all these amazing places that we visit, but what we mean about saying that we are not on vacation is that we have to work (we are absolutely NOT retired and work harder now than we did on the 3 business we owned when we lived in Maine), school and the normal things in life that take time each week like laundry, grocery shopping, cleaning, maintenance, etc. That means that sometimes we have to skip amazing things in our travels because we don't have time to stop. Thanks for watching tonight!

We’re heading out for 4yrs and know that we’re going find out which things we need spares of before summer is over. My husband call it a vacation, but we’re retired & have few must dos. For now. Thankfully we don’t need to make money while on the road. I don’t mind at all that you are posting in “real time”, it keeps you safer and eliminates unsavoury characters seeking you out.

My family and I will base camp near Patterson, Missouri at a KOA on April 5th and weather dependent will travel which ever direction gets us to the clearest sky along the Totality line on April 8, 2024. I will be imaging so praying for an uneventful trip. Have fun in Texas! Best of luck to all! Yes! We placed an order for T-Shirts and Sweatshirts! :-)

It’s an old motel that’s been remodeled into a bed & breakfast. Flew into SL went through Price on the way down & back to the parks. Stayed in Park City a couple of nights. The Aspens were amazing. Wish I could send a pic. Actually had jigsaw puzzles made from one of the photos to give as Christmas presents to family. The colors were that vibrant!

Word on the street is that Dead Horse isn't really worth it, and you're better off having an off--road tour of Canyonlands. I highly recommend Outlaw Adventures in Moab. You will be DOWN IN what you're looking at in Dead Horse. The description I've heard about Dead Horse is a relatively high admission cost to just go to an overlook.

I must be living right…I live in San Antonio, TX. I was able to see the Aug 14th eclipse and will be able to see April 8th, all from my driveway with my Celestron 6” Schmit/cat.

Just curious why you don't have a 5th wheel? Wouldn't that have more space for your family?
