Definitely agree, I took a break from snap for a couple of months and missed out on some of the anime variant bundles. But SD probably won't bring any bundles back as they want them to be "exclusive". They did bring the Atlantis bundle back so there's a chance I guess

Bundle exclusive art is something they can reserve and rotate into the shop premium variants. I do wish they would open up the shop more seeing 4-9 pixel variants consistently so off putting that I only give a side glance when I scroll to claim my 50 creds.

Drewberry is so great. I really appreciate content creators who actively look for ways to make the game better for players rather than being apologists for a greedy developer.

Of all the people I think Alex advocates for the community the most and we need it more than ever right now because it’s a little bit ridiculous (in reference to economy, bundles etc)

Considering the fact that Drew recently said in one of his videos that he doesn't do/want to do alot of collabs because he is pretty introverted, and then seeing him here, makes me so happy.

Alex I genuinely appreciate you bringing up issues with the game economy. I hope all huge Marvel Snap content creators speak up. I personally used to buy every season pass, and a few bundles here and there. But I stopped after SD last minute decided to not drop Knull and Darkhawk to series 3.

Great seeing Drew here he's one if my favorite content creators. Look I'm going to be honest here as a 99% free players I can say the moment they removed gold and the number of tokens we get from caches killed most of my love for the game. Last year I praised this game as a f2p but nowadays it feels this game is very less f2p every month.

About 35m in Drewberry hits the nail on the head with how I've decided to do my spotlight acquisition. I don't get any new cards on release anymore, except the season pass. I wait until the card comes up on a subsequent week where I can take a shot at getting it with an additional card in the caches, trying to minimize the variants I pick up with the spotlight keys. Because of this approach, Jeff is the last card that I actually pulled from spotlights. So anyone like me that is trying to maximize their resources for these cards, I will go from Sept to December without getting any new cards outside the season pass. I did purchase MMM with tokens, but given what happened with him obviously doesn't feel like he was worth the 3k tokens even now at 3/3. They definitely need to bring back series drops too to get some of these worse cards out. The pool is huge now for caches and they've shown stuff like knull 3 or 4 times now.

Just remove Tokens and have Gold as the singular premium currency. There is never a reason to have more than one premium currency, and yes Tokens are premium because 6+ months for one Series 4 card from the CL track doesn't cut it, other than to obfuscate the real money value of any purchase. Now 6,000 Gold for a single Series 5 when all cards released now are Series 5 is still ludicrously expensive, but it is still better value for money based on current Token Tuesday rates and closer to old Token Tuesday.

Thanks for talking about Collector's Reserves. You are absolutely right - it is no more something special opening them, they took the emotion out of this ressource. You are not the only one not opening them. Right now I'm sitting on 177 un-opened ones. Though I do not expect a change anytime soon, I assume there will be some kind of evaluation. I’ve said it hit the nail on the head regarding series drops, I haven’t had anything in my series 3 pool space for like 6+ months - to have every other currency nerfed plus no newer cards on the horizon is super deflating for free to play players I imagine

the topic of remembering stuff they said and ignored first edition badge they said that was coming like 5 months ago but i really liked your guys points on the economy ive been thinking the same thing about they r getting greedier little by little and making it worse for players to earn cards and the cool gold bundles in game ive also been sitting on 300 reserves cause they r worthless like u said ooo im missing out and some credits but thats it with them removing and reducing so much with that last reserve update

Love the top 10's! Am very interested in the reasons for leaving out Cosmo and Iron-Man (both make my top 5), and a little sad no honorable mention of Cerebro as a card that, while hasn't been very strong for a time, has very unique architypes formed around him. Great lists and discussion.

I have been winning with a slightly altered version of your Ravona Ms Marvel deck. I swapped Nightcrawler for Jeff and Green Goblin for Cosmo.

I liked the economy suggestions. I would have said simply double the tokens from the reserves but the graphic just displayed a roundabout way of doing that by making 100 gold = 100 tokens. Overall it'd be a great change. Edit: Just reached the end and gotta say I lean towards Drewberry's Ongoing list with clutch inclusions like Electro, Red Skull and Professor X.

Beautiful day Alex, and Drew thank you for stepping in this week. In regards to economy the focus should be new/free to player forward. It should be a robust push to provide the best experience for these gamers. Small note I am collection complete with spending of 80$-100$ a month with loads of saved resources (16,000+ tokens and 5 keys) banked to navigate future release. My focus now is to help friends navigate the game at the maximized fun for the least amount of $ from their wallet. Love and laughter in your lives and cheers friends :)

Here is my idea for Acquisitions, Reserves, and Tokens 1. Remove the gold ticket and 100 tokens from the new card reserves. Replace it with 500 tokens (half the value of an S3 Card) and also have a small chance to pull an S4/5 card that you don't own from these reserves, maybe at a 95/4/1 Tokens/S4/S5 2. If you pull a random S4/S5 in the Spotlight caches, then you should get half the value of the card you have to convert, so if you pull S4 you get 1500 tokens, if you pull S5 you get 3000 tokens 3. Make one of the cosmetic reserves a guaranteed Variant, with a chance of being a Premium Mystery variant...maybe a 90/10 odds. 3a. If you really want to reward players, tie the avatars to the cards, meaning you get the avatar if you have the card or variant. Which would allow you to remove them from the cosmetic reserves and make titles available to anyone or add them to something new, like maybe make a Title shop or add them as a reward for draft mode. Then make all 3 cosmetic reserves variant reserves instead. 1 would be premium and the other 2 would be plain mystery variant. 4. If you pull a random S4/S5 in the Spotlight caches give us a chance to pick from the 1500 tokens or a variant of the card that we would have pulled. 5. Make Spotlight Keys purchasable for Tokens at 2000-2500 tokens per Spotlight Key or maybe 3000-3500, the price would need to be around the cost of S4 cards, but I'm not sure if they should make it cost a little more or a little less lol. Maybe they could have deals sometimes where they are less and sometimes where its more, the price varies over time, kinda like how WoW tokens do in WoW, but have limits to it where it can't go lower than 2k or higher than 4k tokens. idk, just an idea. 6. If you are S3 complete, then the free S3 card for that season becomes a free S4 card, if you are S4 complete, then you get a free 3k tokens 6a. Make the free S3 card weekly instead of per season, then add a free S4/5 card and make it per season...no bonuses if you are S3/S4/S5 complete in this scenario though. Also, new cards are only entered into the pool 1 month after their initial release 7. SERIES DROPS RETURNING...Each week 1 new card releases and 1 old card drops to S4 or S3, with a guarantee of 2 drops to S3 per season. 6a. If 7 happens like this, then any cards dropping would only be available as the free card 1 month after their drop or it would stay 1 per season, but the S4/5 free card would still be there too 8. Remove Conquest Tickets from bundles 9. Add more value to ALL bundles

Love the conversation; it's too bad they've been silent on the Series drops but they have to be building up that pool to a certain goal before they start dropping multiple cards from S5>S4 and S4>S3 consistently without the pools running out over realistically the next year. They have to be thinking they want the "free S3 card" per month to be a healthy pool so free to play players have to actually make a choice about getting 1 card over another 2 or 3 cards available to them in that section of the shop.

When it comes to the economy, I wish we would get more credits, by getting two more daily missions (every 6 hours instead of 8). They would have to increase the number of steps you need to finish the weekly challenge in conjunction with that (from 25 to 30). This would net you 1050 extra credits each week, this would help with grinding for spotlight chaches

I love that y’all are batting for economy improvements. Series drops need to happen at an average of one per week. Anything less will lead to the gap in # of cards owned between F2P and paying players growing with every new release.

I dropped 6k tokens on Echo the other day and I'm not even using her atm lmao. Still glad I snagged her but I only need Stegron and Howard now and who really cares about either of those? That Echo variant is sick too. I just wish they'd give us more gold tbh and I say that as someone who just bought the top 3 gold bundles for the double gold and then spent pretty much all of it within a few days on variants. Ultimately I'd rather spend my gold on variants and save for the 10/10 that gives 2k tokens and a premium variant. I'm sure they keep a close eye on all the stats but I know personally I'm more likely to spend on good deals, some of the stuff they offer all you can do is shake your head and wonder why anyone would buy it, but then again I bought the Death bundle for $99 so I'm an idiot lmao.

You have a decent chance in opening a variant in those 500 caches you don't open

I just recently spent 1400 gold for tokens to get 6k for Ironlad because he wasn’t coming in the spotlights, then a few days later they swapped him into December… Oh and Luke Cage is Powerman, while Nick Cage is Ghost Rider!

A change I want to see to the spotlight cache system is to make the random 4/5 card have negative priority. I am F2P and I was only able to save three caches to try and roll alioth. I got Knull, Nega, and Daken. That it a 24.75% chance to happen, so not completely unlikely. But it left a bitter taste in my mouth, that’s the card I wanted and I ended up not getting it

36:50 There is only one way, in my mind, Second dinner can fix the series drop problem. They need to, at the very least, make all the Big Bads exclusively series 5. Which means anything that is not a Big Bad should automatically be moved to series 4, and of those anything that is way too on par with something you would see in series 3 should be moved down to series 3. For example, Jeff... Love him, use him in many of my decks.. Easily replaceable with Nightcrawler or Colossus depending on your deck. He should be series 3. And there are a lot of other cards in series 4 and 5 that have no real business being anything but a series 3. I say this as someone who spent 6k tokens on him. I used Colossus in my Toxic Spectrum deck because he is gets the buff from Spectrum, can't be reduced in power or destroyed. There are plenty of destroy locations, which allows me to play him there where maybe my opponent can't. There is no reason for Jeff to be a series 5. The only reason he stayed a series 5 outside of timing, is because the content creators hyped him up so much because he's a cute funny little guy that can get anywhere and be played as a second card with Sandman or Electro decks. He's good. He is often the go to 2 cost spot.. but he is interchangeable with other cards depending on the situation. He isn't like an Alioth or an Iron Lad, or Silk or Ghost Spider.

I'm with Alex in not opening reserves. It's not even that I'm expecting them to change the contents, it's just that they make me feel genuinely bad when I open them. I'm sitting at somewhere like 250-300 unopened reserves. Occasionally I'll open a few to see if I feel any different, but I'll open maybe ten, get two back to back gold conquest tickets and just quit again. Opening reserves used to be the part of the game I looked forward to the most, and they just killed that enjoyment for me.

Ever time I play Echo I feel like I'm going up against a Shuri Sauron deck which loves my Echo 😢

I'm hoping series drops will be part of a big end of this year/beginning of next year patch. Next month therell be a new spotlight card even during the first week of the season (when traditionally there's only been the season pass card that week). So if the devs don't plan on adding back series drops to help alleviate the strain of a new spotlight card every single week then idk how the economy will survive it

The problem with high prices is that even people who are eager to spend money on a game turn most of the deals down. SD asks for more and frequently gets 0. It's like they are selling only Lambos and Ferraris, so 99% of player base passes and takes a bus. But if they introduced smth like Toyota on a regular basis they would actually attract more money.
