So today I got a roomba in for repair that was just making the worse sounds possible and when you see what I found you will know why

Hey! Thanks for the video. I’ve also got an old 650 that a relative recently got and had some similar maintenance that needed to be done. I was wondering, do you know what size the side brush screw might be? It looks like there are two different sizes depending on the color of the side brush motor module (blue being different from a gray module) but I can’t for the life of me find exact measurements at hardware stores near me. I got a bunch of perfect brushes but no screw! Thanks in advance!

Mine is clean and empty still making the noise. Not quite the video to fix my issue. Mine makes a loud grinding noise as if it’s running over rocks

My roomba is clean…. But it makes a very loud scratching noise… I replaced the entire side brush mechanism and it didn’t help… now I’m thinking it might be the motor or the tire mechanisms. 😞

I’d recommend taking the bin apart and cleaning the motor and impeller, I did it to my 560 model and it made it much quieter, and improved run time.

Was this difficult to do? I have a Roomba 890 but I have already replaced the clip sensors.

@@bobbob-gi1yp it’s a little bit more difficult on the 800-900 series but it’s still pretty easy. Just be careful not to break the plastic when you’re pulling it apart.

Didn’t want to watch you clean out someone’s nasty roomba brushes….. was hoping to see you trouble shoot the noise. (It’s rarely a hair clogged roomba) I’ve had roombas for 22 years, clean them weekly and have 7 of them.
