Travis, I’m a 62 year old farmer in England and that tip about cleaning down with the air hose first must be one of the best time-saving tips I’ve ever had. I’ve used it since your vlog about cleaning your combine last year and I must have saved hours! It just proves that you’re never too old to learn! You’re correct about the wet crud from the power washer just sticking on elsewhere, so much easier to blow it off first

Same Bearing went on me today.... didnt know it was gone until I was talking to my brother by the rake and looked back and saw all the smoke!!! Dumped the bale out and doused it all with water...

I use a leaf blower on mine it works great.

I grew up in a family excavation business and helped out at the neighbors horse farm doing hay, as much as I loved running equipment I really enjoyed maintaining it, especially at the farm because that was a whole new world for me

Thanks for sharing Travis ! If you " Get Ahead " you'll be the first farmer I've ever encounted that did ! I may have suggested this before, but keep an eye out for a small ( 125 CFM @ 100 psig ) you can afford . Make an 'air lance ' from metal electrical conduit and you can seriously air clean machines in the shop or in the field and you'll find other chores for it soon enough !

You need a Backpack blower, and a hot water pressure washer. The Hot water pressure washer is awesome at removing old grease, motor oil, Transmission fluid and other petroleum products. Travis what do you personally use to lubricate the chains?

Ok. I forgot that is how they use to do that one. We had 2 535’s and they were the same. The 568 we have now is much better in most ways but that is not one of them. We just did them. I agree the square teeth are better. Might See if they even offer a greasable bearing to replace it with.

Always the most fun the Maintenance on anything on the farm.try a potatoes digger. Tons of fun to work on

A Korean made bearing,how sad that is.

At least that's a good stout bearing... the ones at the bottom of the door on my Ford 552 (rebranded Gehl 1400 IIRC) are about like a "cultivator bearing"... like the ones they used to put in the guide coulters on a cultivator-- 1 inch shaft, about a 2.5 inch bore... not very stout at all... Yeah I've had them go out and be dropping flaming bits of hay duff onto the field behind the baler... open the door, drop the bale, pop her in road gear, head to the house and grab a garden hose... Later! OL J R :)

If the shaft spun in the bearing, it will be interesting to see if a new bearing will fit again. May need to pull the shaft and get it fixed too.

We have a 569 round baler did a lot of maintenance on it it works wonder full I grease it every time we go out

Allways some thing to do on farm .

Getting bearings off, I use a dremal with the large cutting wheels. Cut and pop.

Did you ever consider a gas powered leaf blower instead of the air compressor? You could take it to the field and use it when needed.

Have to find a place to mount it and I'm not about to have it bouncing around in the cab with me. Were close enough to home and dont generally run to many bales through in A given day for it to be a big deal.

Oh yes, did everyone see the original was made in Korea?

Might as well change the bearing on the other end because it's going to be going soon

Replaced that last fall

I hate the tines on my Hesston 4755 always replacing them

So theyre going to be demoing a baler as he gave away a small hint
