Fixing An American Girl Doll Chrissa GOTY 2009 - Limb Tightening and Hair Washing
In today's video, I'm fixing up a retired Girl Of The Year doll Chrissa Maxwell! I got her for 60$ at the same time as my Ruthie doll (make sure to watch that video after) and she's in pretty good condition!
Fixing up dolls is becoming my new hobby. You can get retired American Girl dolls for a really good price and get the satisfaction of fixing them up! Plus, you can make a profit if you decide to sell the doll after. I cleaned her body, tightened her limbs and washed her hair. Make sure you stay till the end to see the results and her new name!

I love how you restored Chrissa. I have been wanting her for a while and may still try to get her even if she's not that high up on my ISO(In search of) list of AGs but her movie was beautiful. Her film was a better one dealing with bullying before that plot was overdone in 2010s era.

Yeah the words in ag community when it comes to customizing is weird half the time I forget that it sounds or looks weird. One time I was tightening my dolls head and my friend was sitting next to me and I just gave her the doll head to hold well I was trying to fix the string and she looked so confused🤣
She looks so pretty! I really like Chrissa but I like Grace better because I really like her freckles and long hair! Also Margot suits her so well

You did a really really good job fixing her up. I haven’t watch legally blonde the musical or the movie but I have heard some of the legally blonde songs and I think they’re really good.

Nice job making over Carissa. I think she is a beautiful doll although I don’t own her. I have always admired her dark hair and dark blue eyes. It’s such a stunning combo. I always watch your makeover videos. I don’t think they are repetitive. I learn something new each time. I want to try my first limb tightening soon. Wish me luck!😊

Thank you! Limb tightening isn’t too bad, at least if the doll has neckstrings and not a zip tie. Just make sure you put all of the stuffing back into the doll, even if it’s tough

I love my Chrissa...she reminds me of me when I used to part my hair in the middle as a teen. She has a low forehead like I do, and because of that my hair didn't stay out of my face. Now I Have bangs and have had them since my mid 20's. but every time I look at my Chrissa I can say that she would be my Truly Me Doll!!

I was so scared from my first wig swap experience but I’ve done it a few times since them. I’m still scared to glue down wigs though

I didn't know that water on the wig cap could loosen the glue oops. I've done that lots of times with no problem haha. You found a great condition Chrissa and I love the name you picked! Avery is my Lanie's name.

Congrats on getting Chrissa...she is one of my dream dolls! I have been trying to get one without butchered hair for a while, so hopefully I can track one down soon.. As for Legally Blonde, I love both the movie and the musical. but the musical is just a tad bit better in my mind just because the one I watched had LBB in it and I ADORE her (plus, the songs are AMAZING). Can't WAIT for the All my Dolls video and congrats on getting both Ruthie and Chrissa!

Try using acne cream and sunlight on her cheek. I lay old towel over doll,cut small hole in the towel where the mark is on the doll. Apply acne cream and let the sun work it’s magic.

For the mark on her cheek i used rubbing alchohol on a similar mark and it worked

For the mark use nail polish remover, I remove all my doll marks with that and it works amazing and you don’t have to afraid about accidentally removing face paint

If you like the weird things that make people go what?! When you talk about it you should hear people who customize other types of dolls as well. "I'm just gonna cut her hair off as short as possible. Then just pop off the head and scrape out the hair plugs. And then wipe off her face." It's pretty fun to see people's reactions to something I forget are not normal things to say. Nice video by the way.
Do *our generation dolls* wear wigs or is it attached to the head? If they don’t wear wigs is it okay to shampoo their hair without worrying the hair would fall off?

It is rooted hair - similar to Barbie. So yes you can wash it but there is still glue on the inside. The issue with washing AG hair is that it is a wig so adding water will loosen the glue.
