I used a turkey baster to remove dirt that fell in. You'd be surprised how much dirt/water you can remove with it.

Why not just run the water and let it push the dirt pit naturally?

The proper way to flush out dirt from lines is to turn the zone valve on and allow the water to push all the dirt from the entire line out of that area. Once you run the zone for two minutes, all the dirt should be flushed out and you can turn it off.

I’m sure you meant to add, your excellent technique works best if the end of the line is opened, or does that go without saying? 😉

That’s what I was thinking. Hoping it works.😬 I swear it’s always something with this sprinkler system. So irritating and costly.

Just did this now and works great. Dug up the problem heads, took them off, flushed for 2 mins and all is well.

This looks like a great solution, but only if you know where the dirt is. I have dirt - or perhaps a small pebble that's gotten into the line, with more than a dozen heads. I imagine it will be necessary to do this to each head
