FIXED: Nvidia Screen Tearing Problem [Updated Solutions 2024]

One of the common problems of NVIDIA graphics card users is screen tearing. Even though NVIDIA has consistently produced high-quality GPUs, it’s not surprising for the gaming community that some users may encounter trouble like screen tearing from time to time.
When the frame rate of the video input is different from the refresh rate of the monitor, a visual artifact known as "tearing" appears on the screen. There may be times when the graphics card is working so hard that it cannot keep up with the refresh rate of the monitor, causing some of the screen to be drawn in one frame and the rest of the screen to be drawn in another frame. If this persists for a number of frames, a vertical line will be visible. To fix the problem, check out the solutions in this video.

i got screen tearing only when i wach youtube videos. Not in games. And have tryd EVERYTHINK but nothing helps. Its frustrating...

It's at least nice that you didn't go straight to online aftermarket software and modifying files in windows.
My problem is that with Frame Generation turned on the setting to use vsync is turned off :(
My Rtx 2070 have not issued running at 120fps but my rtx 4090 having screen tearing runs fines but every minute or so it gets some screen tearing sometimes just the sounds tearing not the screen some other times it’s both together

no chance for us , me i have always the prob with a 4k screen
Not all games allow you to disable game optimization. Moslty if they are under another platform like steam. So none of the options worked on my end. do you have another solution?

Don’t use v sync on multiplayer games it puts u at a huge disadvantage cuz it increases input delay

U literally have to otherwise I get screen tearing when using frame generation and no nivida confirmed vsync fast is almost as fast as vsycn off
I play valorant and sometimes fortnite with a new zowie 144hz k version monitor. I use scanline sync in riva tuner set to 930. Performs better than vsync and i get zero problems with tearing. I use the same setting in rivatuner on another old pc running the same games without tearing. The tradeoff is a bit more latency but test it out 👍

How do you deal with the tear line in the middle of the screen at 930? I used to do that, but the line in the middle of the screen became too much to bear. It works but instead of moving tear lines, you just end up with one that stays put.

@@kriss7643 Thats strange, as per scanline sync, you position the tear line where you want it, so not sure how yours is gone. Maybe too small to notice.

My stupid ass was playing in boderless instead of full screen. Enabled full screen and enabled v sync and fixed it

And people say Nvidia is better than AMD. My 5600 xt never had problems, then I upgraded to the 4060 ti, and I have to play with settings all the time now.
