It's gonna be weird asking my mom for a jar of Vaseline.

for people who watch this in the future, unless you have a worst case scenario, theres probably no need to take them apart and risk breaking anything (if youre not confident or careless it could happen). I just use a penetrating lubricant like wd40 and spray into all hinges. Twist/work hinges as you spray in to allow for penetration. Sure, itll smell for a couple hours, but after that, good as new without the disassembly. still a great video

Thank you! This along with tightening some of the screws directly below the earcup swivel worked perfectly. :)

Thanks :) you helped me to dismantle and kill crickets :)

I found that the 2 parts of the arms that attach to the earcups were the culprit so I ran a bead of superglue along the seams. That combined with your Vaseline has done the trick. Thanks man.

I don't want to brag, but I probably had the creakiest g933's of all. Popped off the bezels and covers and then the hinges and over-lubed it like a raw peter. No more creaking!

What lubricant did you use? What is safe not to damage the plastic. The creaks are killing me :(

@Bizza12345 uh, that is not wise especially WD40 as it will attract dust and has questionable electrical properties. I did this, it was easy. Just be slow and careful. I used white lithium grease as it non-conductive and can withstand a lot of heat before starting to run.

I need to do this to mine.. I think that a piece of the plastic on the hinge got broken so for me it now creaks even more. edit: Yeah this fixed it. I just used some nasty red vaseline stuff on it and now it completely stopped creaking.
