Fix samsung bluray player (changing source fault)

This vid shows you how to fix bluray player with the common fault of changing source on its own. This model is the HT E 5200 but a lot more models uses the same touch sensitive front display which is the cause of this fault. Dont forget to like the video!

I have a sumsung HT-E 5550 home theatre with bluray (Australian compliance), which has been randomly changing sources. I tried everything possible from software updates to cleaning and also on the phone for hours to Samsung support to no avail. The next step was to by a new pcb board online for 130 bucks, and or to the point of paying someone for repair or buying a new one which are pretty hard to come by since the introduction of stupid sound bars, Anyway I have since tried the advice on here for disconnecting the "digitizer" and guess what? It friggin worked !!! Have been interruption free now for 2 days (after changing sources every 5 minutes). Hopefully this keeps going and this advice can also help someone else in my situation. Thank You! Tecman, PRRROBLEM SOLVED!

This trick helped me fix my HT-E5500W model with the "changing source" issue. Called Samsung first but did not get any support since my unit is 6 years old. After disconnecting the "digitizing" cable connector, the problem was fixed but you always have to use the remote control. Touch control on the front of the Blu-ray player is no longer functional. But still, thanks for your assistance!!!!

If you have the Samsung e6750 Wireless Bluray Home Theatre System and had the same problem as I had (VOLUME CHANING ITSELF AND TURNING DOWN AND HEARING A BEEP SAME TIME) then you can SURELY FIX THIS: 1) unscrew screws behind the case of BR, then clip out the edges and release the front panel . At this moment you would be left with 3 hanging connectors * 1 large in the middle and 2 little brown cable connectors on the right side margin. 2) if you remove BOTH CONNECTORS carefully as they can deteriorate and... that's it!, clip on the panel to the main unit and then put the screws in the holes TESTED ON MY UNIT. PROBLEM SOLVED 100%. NO MORE VOLUME DOWN AUTOMATICALLY , NO MORE UNWANTED BEEPS! Volume is constant playing at the value i chose. Thanks dude.

@@rcac1023 Maybe you cross switched connecters unwillingly.... repeat the steps carefully. If it doesnt work, it may not be appropriate for your model BlueRay player. The big ribbon connector shoud be placed as i was initially, careful not to endanger one little pin , because it could lead to the problems like yours.

Thats what I am talking about! Samsung is just interested to sell you the next model and when you phone, they make you feel as if your model is so old even if it is only 2 or 3 year old that you should change. They did the same with me when my samsung tv broke after 2 years, I changed the faulty boards bought on ebay for 20 pounds and my 'TV has since worked perfectly for the last three years.

I have a SAMSUNG HT-E5530 DVD player etc. And I did this and it seems to work. Just to say to anyone who does this- that cable is not easy to remove. It requires a bit of a yank. I felt like I was going to cause damage but I DID NOT... so it fixed it. I didn’t have to remove the white long flat cable. Mine stayed in when I removed the front. Thanks very tech guy for this advice.

  • @grantwebb6276

The cable shouldn't just be pulled. If you look at the white clip holding it there is a black strip on the left hand edge (as viewed in the above video). This needs to be pushed in towards the right - you will feel a slight click. This then releases the ribbon cable which now should slide out easily.

My husband and I literally just had to do this to our system. We bought it about 7 or 8 years ago and after some time it started changing sources on its own...super annoying. So we ended up taking it for repair under warranty. Now, some yrs later it started up again. The one thing I would suggest is instead of taking the front panel off just get a pair of eyebrow tweezers and slide the brown piece out. That idea just came to me as my husband and I were trying to take the from panel off..which by the way it’s difficult to do so and I was afraid of breaking it.

In fact the entire unit won’t work if the white band stays disconnected. Just leave the little brow ribbon unplugged and all should be fine. From now on, you should use the remote control to operate the unit.

I've had my player actually sent off for warranty repair for this stupid issue on the capacitive touch screen panel failure a few years ago and alas, the problem has reappeard. SO ANNOYING. Sometimes a dirty screen and high humidity can cause this issue by the way, but if you've cleaned it, buffed it with high count micro-fiber cloth and it still switches away, disconnecting the harness is a quick way to alleviate the problem as long as you have a Samsung remote. Simple yet effective.

Same here. I removed the brown tab on my HT-D5500, the front panel no longer works, but it still goes to the main menu screen after initial switch on

That's not a fix. You just disable part of the system to stop an issue from appearing. On my player that doesn't even stop the annoying issue.

If u actually just take the ribbon off and wipe the contacts a little bit most likely it can work just qtip 99% alcohol wipe the lens then try n alcohol qtip fan wipe the dust gently and maybe just duster spray and voila should work
