    Really simple and easy to remember. Can really feel it opening up my chest after a short mobilisation and it also tells me how tight those parts of my body are, including my neck.

    I have a request; could you trial then make a video about the following: Take what you have just shown there (just the shoulder part) and try it while running. That is; counter clockwise shoulder motion (as if you had the shoulder motion of a backstroke swimmer) while running. Which is pretty much the opposite of what everyone does. It also feels counter intuitive as we are going forward with shoulders rotating backwards. However, as it matches the rope flow perfectly I reckon this is the actual proper use of the spinal engine and the shoulder counter clockwise rotation balance the pelvis clockwise rotation. Opposite to what you mentioned in this video, they would not “follow” each other but “counter balance” each other. I tried that today for a small 7km and man, what a difference in efficiency. I think this may be a breakthrough in long distance running form. If there is merit to it, get in touch, I would like to discuss this some more.

    @@InnerunnerI don’t think I explained it properly as I’m not seeing their shoulders **rotating** counter clockwise, like a backstroke swimmer - those shown are back and forth, pendulum swing shoulder motion, there is no rotation - so there is a misunderstanding here. I’ll try to make a video of what I’m talking about. Best I can find online is an example from David Weck kzread.info/dash/bejne/Y6KMuqxtqLOec8o.htmlsi=HlTwJGzzBcEUmYKv at 2:20 - not quite but he’s close to the idea. Look at his shoulder motion, forget the pulsing, it’s about the motion that make best use of the lats WHILE running (better spinal engine use than back and forth shoulders). This is exactly what you are demonstrating here, I just can’t find anyone online running with this.

    Thank you for this video. I understand about not wanting to keep angular movement in your shoulders and elbows when you’re doing an activity . But what about keeping right angles with your elbows and moving your arms forward and back just to work on some movement within your shoulders of to pen range of motionp, but not trying to create a habit that you would use for other activities?

    Thanks for watching. There is no real bad movement and as they say motion is lotion. I never cue 90 degrees and I don’t really like to see 90 degrees in human motion, but will you explode if you do 90 degree movements? Of course not. Habits, repetition, intent and cues in motion can get you into trouble. Many peoples movements are angular from the 90 degree apparatus we train in, the desks we sit in and the world that surrounds as. We are meant to be fluid, relaxed and beautiful when we move.
