I tried the software calibration first and could see the stick jumping around and was worried the controller went bad, so I did your cleaning method with compressed air and it worked. Fixed not only the drift but what I thought was lagging in onward. Makes sense bc the controller was trying to push me backward sporadically. Excited this worked, thanks!

Not really, but I do get frustrated with controller drift. Have fun!

I had just bought my oculus 2 weeks ago and the drift on the right joy stick was so bad I could barely do anything. But after I watched this video and did some of the things it’s basically fixed. But I had to turn it up to the max and I also still have drift sometimes. And I don’t think it being dirty is the problem. Becuase I bought this very recently

Unfortunately, drift seems like it can start at any time. Mine didn't get bad until I'd abused the controller for months on end, I was well past the warranty date by then. Since yours is still new, you might want to consider warranty repair. If not, some contact cleaner might do the job for now. kzread.info/dash/bejne/m52o0cevf7vYlps.html Good luck.

What I did is I watched the video on how to open it and started moving the spring around instead of calibrating as this makes it nearly impossible to use, moving the joystick spring fixed it

What about rotation drift because I swear to God, I have to tilt my hands, forward to fire a gun or swing a saber straight and normal. And not all games allow you to adjust it for the game like breath square my swords are just practically pointed backwards to where I have to hold it in a really weird position to play accurately. Is there a way to reset the tilt or gyroscope controls?

It worked for the most part but with the deadzone it stops me from moving forward because my drift makes me go backwords

No idea what's causing that. I do have a suggestion, try unpairing then pairing the controller to the headset. This will show you how. kzread.info5ZwZUPIDsH4?feature=share After you've unpaired, power down the headset, then turn it back on before you pair the controller again. Hope that helps.

I think I need new controllers(yes both) 😅, when I tried to calibrate the dot was glitching around like crazy, even when I let go of the controller. Took 30 secs to even calibrate them, the dot wasn’t moving continuously at all.

I just took off the top covers and blew some air into the transducer area and after a couple of tries the joystick moved continuously and had no drift when I was calibrating it. Controller drift(and bad internet) was one of the main things that pushed me away from Pop one. I came back and tried to play last week but the drift was too bad. Thanks 😀

Should still work on the headset. They did move the location in settings, check the description. It won't be in the oculus app though.

Nah bro i think i need a new one when i open the calibration menu it launches strait to the right and starts spazzing out . In any game that makes you run if you move your stick to far you auto run im allways running to the right. I cant walk straight. If i walk im moving at an angle. Soo uh imma be trying the ones where you take apart your controller because now either that fixes it or i get new controllers idk man.

Check to see which version of the software your headset is running. Should normally update automatically. You should be up to version 39. If not, you need to update your headset.

If the controller is turning on and off, it doesn't sound like a drift problem. You might try re-pairing it to your headset. support.oculus.com/articles/getting-started/getting-started-with-quest-2/manually-pair-touch-controllers-quest-2/

Walk through the calibration settings for the controller again. This time don't roll it around the circle, hit next or skip. In the deadzone settings, leave it on Zero. Finish the calibration.

That is probably true. They added the electronic calibration in V39 of the quest software update. I was dealing with my drift a solid year before that even came out. This was helpful, but not always. The problem is with the transducer itself. Constantly clicking down on it causes the contacts to bend away from the circuit traces over time. There's a fix for that, but you've got to tear the controller apart. kzread.info/dash/bejne/n3iAtpOFlLvFkco.html

I need help, my controller is moving on it's on, it's not controller stick drift, but the controller is glitching and spinning. And I know it's not a battery problem because I put new batteries in there and it's still having problems, please help if you can.

You hit me up in two places, I'm going to reply to this one. Let's try troubleshooting. 1st- you already replace the batteries 2nd- try unpairing then pairing the controller that's giving you problems. support.oculus.com/articles/getting-started/getting-started-with-quest-2/manually-pair-touch-controllers-quest-2/ 3rd- do the controller calibration from this video If none of these correct the problem, and cleaning doesn't help, there's not much else to do, except get a new controller.

Fun story, those settings don't exist any more at least not on my headset. I did this 3 months ago and it worked great, drift comes back so I go back to Experimental features to re-calibrate and there's NO OPTIONS FOR THIS! What gives Meta, stop moving stuff around.

My voice is my voice. This can help depending on why you're drifting. Doesn't require any disassembly so its worth a shot. It it doesn't work you'll need to clean or rebuild your joystick. I've got vids for both of those.
