Thanks for the video, after attempting a repair a couple of years ago without luck. Found your video, by sanding down and lubricating fixed it.👍🏽
I have to do this every couple of years. It is much easier to do if you prise off the grey plastic rear cover - 3 lugs each side at top, middle and bottom - and then you can carefully press in the lugs at each side while manoeuvring the trigger out.
Many thanks. It is very much like Hozelocks earlier version. I had a gentle poke about but thought I'd better check out good old KZread first before I break something youtube. Thanks again
Great video! Fixed mine in 5 mins with your help. Thanks!!
TJ’s k you for making this. Exactly what I needed. I had already pried the rubber grip off before finding you video, this allows you to see the two plastic lugs that hold the trigger in place so you can press them in with a screwdriver if desired. Many thanks indeed!!!
Thank you so much for this. It was a bit fiddly, especially putting it back together, and I never would have thought to sand the o ring if you hadn't shared that, but it's working perfectly now,
Echoing Nigel's comment above: prying the back cover off lets you see what you're doing and seems less likely to break. Make sure red bit is fully forwards away from the hinge to make handle extraction easier. The metal tube that the rubber o-ring gets stuck in appeared to be caked in black crud, possibly perished rubber, so that's worth a clean too with something like a bottle brush.
Brilliant. Thanks so much for this video. Definitely saved me from breaking it trying to get it apart and now it's working perfectly. Cheers.
Short but perfect in detail. Help me enormously. Everything you mentioned was exactly right. thank you
Thank you for this guide to repairing our Hoselock spray gun. Twenty minutes, it was sorted.😊
Brilliant! Thank you very much. I hope your next assignment is to overhaul the variable spray mechanism at the head of the unit.
Many thanks, Joe. Worked perfectly after dismantling and reassembling. I used a very stiff old kitchen knife blade rather than a screwdriver which I think helped avoid the problem you had. An important aspect of the reassembly I discovered was to ensure the lower white plunger remained engaged with the upper spring loaded one. When I reassembled it the first time it had dropped down making the gun inoperable when connected to the water pressure. Also I found lubricating the plunger was sufficient to free it up.

is a pig to get apart but was lucky with the repair, just used a bit of silicon grease on the plunger , freed it all up a treat
I’d just bought a new one So I thought I would pull the old one apart fortunately I watched your video and bingo now I’ve got a spare
The one I have is on the back the handle.
Well done Joe. I followed your instructions to the letter but used silicone lube rather than grease. Getting the handle back on was quite fiddly but everything is working now.
Many thanks
Easiest way is to remove the back of the spray gun. Using a flat head screwdriver, insert at the bottom between the grey plastic and the gun body and prise open. You will then be able to prise the sides up until the grey cover opens up. Squeeze the two plastic joints that hold the trigger mechanism together and pop out the trigger. Pull the spring to extend it, and then place everything back together.
These units are so poorly designed and made. I had a Hozelock plastic version which failed which I then repaired 2-3 times. So I decided I'd buy a metal one thinking that it would be more reliable. It was worse and has has lasted less than a year, stuck off. This is a really poor quality product. I need to find another manufacturer, but thanks for your video though Joe.
Many thanks
