I just reinstalled Windows 7 on an old HP laptop. WiFi worked fine then next day it showed connected to internet but I could not open browsers. This fixed it straight away. Great, Thank You.

I have been having wireless problems with my wireless modem since a terrible power outage a couple months ago, and that's with surge protectors. I say terrible because I heard a lot of popping. My wireless extender works great but only reaches the far end of the house. I only had hard wire access near the wireless modem. Wireless showed great connection to all my devices but no connection to anything. This works great. Thanks for sharing. Your english was good enough to make your point. I surely appreciate it.

wow i thought it will not work in my country but it did. this fixed my problem connecting to the internet on iphone. the iphone is connected to wifi but it had no internet, but then i changed the DNS to 8.8.8.8 it worked! thanks alot buddy props to you

Thank you so much it worked. For Windows 7 user there's another way to get to the settings you need to change. Start, Contol Panel, Network and Sharing Centre, Change Adapter settings, Right click you wireless connection, properties, click "Internet Protocol Version 4", click properties. Then make those changes to the dns server.

It cool, that's how I felt about the uploader when I found this video haha. Basically I spent several hours messing with my internet controls that when he said "Internet Protocol Version 4" I knew exactly how to get there even though his route was completely different. Glad I could help.

I had this same problem with my internet connection. I also kept getting messages from McAfee telling me my free trial has expired and should pay for protection. So I got tired of the messages and decided to delete McAfee. After deleting the program, all of a sudden my internet works fine. Kinda suspicious.

Don't know why but it actually works. I suspect some router have trouble in properly assigning DNS address to old devices. All my Win7 and Win10 computer, all cellphones and tablets work fine with DHCP settings. I oly had problem with WinXP and Denon AVR-X2400. Even setting up DNS manually do router address didn't work. Only public DNS like 8.8.8.8 solves the problem.

Just had to stop by and say thanks a lot. My vista desktop PC kept on saying "identifying network" and would work for a considerably long period of time then suddenly cut off. I set my network to Private. Since trying your recommendation(s) for the past several days I have not lost connection, and the "identenfying network" issue seems to disappear/non existent.
