That's so terrible! Mental illness is the worst! People cant see that you're ill, everyone thinks you're ok when you're not. You hurt so badly inside and you have no choice but to drag yourself up and function Not live, but function. Life doesnt matter anymore and that abyss is right there with you and its so tempting to dive in. The blackness and silence is so so addicting and so inviting. No more pain, no more anything.

I still vividly remember in one chapter when Christine prepared the fish dish which were served to Barack Obama. Gordon was astonished why she could manage it so perfectly, how the elements were beautifully arranged on the plate.He was so surprised that he asked her if he was fooled about her vision impaired. And then Christine said: „ No Sir, I WISH“That was so touching for me.. . She wished that Gordon was fooled so that she could see everything again as normal people do.

Christine! I remember watching your season during my finals at med school in Hong Kong. You motivated me to do better and work harder. Now I'm a doctor and I am about to do my first Intensive Care and Anaesthesia exam, your GoPro video again was extremely inspirational. i honestly feel horrible about what happened to josh, its honestly sucks that such a gentle giant went down that way, god truly is a cruel person, still despite this being 3 years ago, congrats to you.

In Ho Chi Minh there's a restaurant called "Noir", have you heard of it? Guests have to eat in the dark and the staff (waiters/ waitresses) are blind; they guide you to your seats and help you eat. Maybe it could be something that'd fit you if you opened a restaurant. It could be a really interesting experience for Jon, too. Take him there next time you come to Hcm :)

It's been another 5 years...

The earlier seasons of Masterchef US were the best. Your season was the one that I had a favorite. I was rooting for you since the beginning. You reminded me of a friend of mine. I first met her at a local gym where she is a group exercise/spinning/yoga instructor. We share a love for the show CSI. After knowing her for a while, she confided that she has glaucoma in both her eyes. And she is losing her eyesight slowly. I was shock, you'll never know if she had not reveal that. She had participated in various trialathon including Ironman. She's an avid cyclist with her husband and little boy. She's an inspiration. And btw... She loves you too.

I still have teary eyes whenever I try to remember who was the second- best in Master Chef season 3 and realized that he was gone.

The montage at the end showing her many many friends and how she keeps in touch with some from her competition days just showed the kind of warm genuine person she is.

Josh took his life? He had so much going for him. My heart just sank. im crying for him and his family and everyone who ever got to come in contact with that beautiful man.

Christine Ha (US) and Eric Chong (Canada) on one picture just made me scream in the middle of the night. My 2 favorite Masterchefs! I binge-watched all of MC Canada seasons and started with the US version after. Totally love it!

Josh seemed like a sweetheart.

It doesn't seem like I've been watching MasterChef so many years (I watched one or two seasons before Christine won). Christine is still my favorite and most inspirational MasterChef.

The few seconds that I "experienced" Christine's vision, on screen made me really appreciate my ability to be able to see. You take things for granted, but never really realise how fortunate you are. Christine is inspiration to me, she's awesome!

Fuck me I liked Josh a lot too.. tbh his personality seemed really similar to mine. It's really sad to hear he took his own life. I hope he managed to inspire some young cooks though. It'd be a great legacy to leave behind.

Christine I have a question for you. Which do you actually prefer to be called or use? Blind or Vision Impaired? I've noticed that sometimes you'll use them interchangeably but I'm curious as to which you prefer.

Vish Wah I only ate pho and bahn bao lol... Seems like I am not Asian anymore ;_;. Pho is basically a pork/beef/ox soup with noodles and bahn bao is a pork bun.

I actually started watching Masterchef on season 3 and was rooting for either you (Christine) or Josh to win it. You both were so charismatic and such fun-to-watch people that I couldn't help but to root for the both of you. When you guys were announced the finalists, I was extremely hyped. It's so sad to hear about Josh's passing. And an even sadder note to think that he might be alive if he won masterchef that season =\. Life goes on however, hope Christine will dedicate a dish for Josh. That would be such a great homage to him and I would love to visit her future restaurant to try it and any of her dishes whenever it happens!

If it might ease your mind a little. The reason he did it was because he had Schizophrenia, so it was most likely not a decision he would have made in sound mind. Though I do not think winning master chief would have changed that unfortunately.

Season 3 was one of my favourites. I am so happy to watch your videos and see where your amazing talents bring you! I didn't know you come to Canada! If you ever come to Muskoka and go to Huntsville, Ontario for the love god go to 3 Guys and a Stove for brunch (weekend only). Everything is from scratch and soooo goooddd.

I'm glad she still keeps in touch with Felix I liked their friendship.

I'm glad you mentioned Josh and dedicated the video to him. It's hard to watch the footage of him talking about his dreams for his own cooking school, it would be amazing if one were to be named after him. You're also a huge inspiration; I'm not an aspiring chef, but overcoming self-doubt and excelling in academics and your passions is an amazing accomplishment and that is inspirational to me. I've dealt with vision impairment for twenty years, as a result of amblyopia, and I'm happy you haven't let your autoimmune disease keep you from living a fulfilled life. You're simply brilliant.

Ooooh....I remember Felix. She was a looker! Every time I hear or see "profiteroles" on Masterchef, I can't help but remember how the corn profiterole doomed her.

Every year we rewatch season 3 and really remember josh and how smart he was.

Man i dont usually cry when it comes to people's backstory. But I saw season 3. And her audition and her backstory just bought tears to my eyes. I was balling up quietly.And the fact that she won is like god tier.
