    My set up is a 20” K Ride .... 18” K Dark Medium Thin Crash and a Sabian AAX 16” Thin Crash Really happy with the combination... they sound great together.

    K Custom Dark Crashes are also real nice. I have one in 19” and 18”. Either one of those along with my Dark Thin 18” and Dark Medium Thin 18” isa nice setup. I also swap out one cymbal for a K Custom Hybrid which I prefer to an A or A Custom. The more bright A crashes are nice but they can get way too brash for my tastes lately. A K Custom Hybrid 19 or 18 inch crash projects fairly well without being thick cymbals at all.

    I just bought a 24" K light ride and absolutely love it. Looking to add some K dark crashes and this was helpful! Thank you!

    As far as crashes go I have three sets that are in my regular rotation. 16” and 18” A med thin, 16” and 18” K custom dark, and 18” k con and a 19” kerope

    Very nice cymbal. I have two K dark crash cymbals. One is 15 inch thin, & the other is 17 inch medium-thin. I like the way they sound combined with my A crashes. When I come off a fill, I sometimes hit 2 crashes, one A & one K. Nice combo, it gives bright & dark tones.

    If you want a very similar cymbal that is slightly darker and softer in pitch, try the 18" K Zildjian Custom Dark Crash cymbal. I have both cymbals and love them equally like two different children.

    My favorite crash that I own is a Paiste 2002 thin crash 19. It literally has all of the same qualities as this cymbal but it's a tad brighter (and I assume louder). I kinda want to get a K thin dark to compliment it now, they should work together quite nicely. Although a larger K and smaller 2002 would probably be better to even out the volume

    I'd actually do it backwards and have smaller darks so it's even in the mix and bright big cymbals to crisp up the low end

    Do you find much of a difference between a regular hi hat and a rippled sound edge hat when playing them open/hard?

  • @gnosticnomad8389
    @gnosticnomad838925 күн бұрын

    I own an unreasonable amount of cymbals. My two main sets of hats are both mismatched. Both are 14”. One is a heavy 70s A bottom with a thin 60s A top and the other set is a K custom special dry bottom with a kerope top. No wrong way to cymbal in my opinion.

    Should I trade a k Custom 17 fast crash for an 18 K dark thin? I already have 2 18" crashes, AAX X-Plosion and A Custom and a 19" K Sweet Crash

    Hi! I want to upgrade to the dark thin crashes as well but I'm worried that it will crack since i am a "more aggressive" player.

    Glance your crash cymbals and you’ll never crack one ever. Any cymbal will not get you more volume,e than it’s capable of. If you have to hit hard just get some heavy crashes and call it a day. A Rock crashes and A Heavy crashes. Maybe some A Medium crashes will be ok if you’re careful. It it would be better if you worked on technique.

    My problem with Zildjian crashes is that I almost can hear the machine stamps tru it. I don't have that with Paiste.

  • @bohergoy
    @bohergoy3 жыл бұрын

    Are you serious about the sustain with the 2002? How often have you played them? They are the most amazing cymbals, ask Ian Paice if you don’t believe me? Then I heard you say Master crashes which lost all your credibility. They are Masters cymbals.
