Lived and worked in DC in the seventies, I was an art teacher. It was the American canvas's that took my breath away, Works by Thomas Cole and Bierstadt and Frederick Church. amazed me. I was there at the opening of the Hershhorn collection. A fine answer to the MOMA in NY.
