Rare Earth is always one of my go to bands to listen too also. I even have Rare earth on 8-track tapes, which makes it so easy to pop in a player when I doing other things around the house, you can't get more Analog than an 8-track tape. Nephew, you are a man of mystery. I do need more Rare Earth, they don’t cost much but they are usually beat up. I never got into Stray Cats, the whole rockabilly scene kind of passed me by. April Wine, you hair metal dude! Most enjoyable to get a peak the secret side of your collection.

I saw Rare Earth a few times in Bakersfield in the early 70’s. I remember the drummer was the singer. Dead Kennedys were great live though sometimes Jello would talk too much.

Chris. We all should have diversified tastes in music. There are such great bands and artists that are out there both past and present. While my collection is heavily filled with jazz and blues. I also have many LP’s from The Band, Grateful Dead, NRBQ, Jefferson Airplane, Delaney & Bonnie, James Brown, The Byrds, Allman Brothers, Bob Dylan Waylon Jennings. The list goes on. And looking back each one of these has several shots of blues in them.

Hi Richard. I agree that a wide musical spectrum is essential. No sense being closed-minded to variety. As for having 'several shots of blues in them', I believe Willie Dixon said it best when he stated: "The blues is the roots, everything else is the fruits." Thanks and have a great week.

Hi Chris!!! and congrats on 5+ years in the VC... You're right Rare Earth is and odd band to be in Motown records, but they are a cool band. That DK album is kind of a surprise, but a good one. cheers and be well. you don't see a lot of April Wine albums dowm here another cool and underrated band. cheers and be well

Hi Cristian. Yeah, I bet a lot are surprised at my DK albums. LOL! I guess April Wine is pretty rare all the way down there. They are a Canadian band, so I'm not sure if they ever toured in South America. Thanks and have a good weekend.

great video chris, i think having a broad taste in music is so cool im the same love not only the blues but metal/glam, country, crooners, jazz a bit, 60s jangle pop, surf/drag/instro big time and rock n roll/rockabilly/psychobilly and 80s pop rock, some great choices man the scarecrow and all JCM albums awesome, rare earth and aptil wine hard to find over here but have got one rare earth and its great, that leon redbone album with michigan j frog on it made me smile so cool, as for brian setzer love, have all his albums on cd man the big band stuff wow, cheers chris

Nice video Chris - always had you down as a man of diverse tastes music wise so no real surprise! If you were to take a casual look at my own collection you would probably put me down as a Jazz fan ( which I am ) but if you take the time to look closer then you will find Blues , Classic Rock , Classical, Afro beat , krautrock and Prog in there to ! 👍

Hi Chris. Great albums by great artists. I am mostly a blues gue like you, but I do like a lot of other things, as you do. I have a number of Rare Earth, Leon Redbone, StrayCats/Setzer and April Wine albums. I never got into punk so have, never liked it. April Wine albums are difficult to find here in Australia. Most people have no idea who they are, but I still always keep an eye out. Maybe a trip to Canada might e on the cards.
