Five Elmendorf AFB F-22 Raptor Depart RAF Lakenheath | Quick Climb & Emergency | 09/12/22

Six AK tail F-22 Raptors from the Elmendorf Air Force Base were due to depart from RAF Lakenheath. The F-22s had callsigns 'Cube' and they would meet up with callsigns 'Bobby 71, Bobby 72 and Bobby 73', the callsigns for the three KC135 tankers to assist their homeward journey.
However, things did not go to plan as one of the F-22s called a 'Red Ball'. A R'ed Ball' is any maintenance issue that comes up prior to an aircraft launch or during flight.did not even depart. Callsigns Cube 21-24 did manage to depart but about 20 minutes into the flight, Cube 21 had a generator failure and had to RTB and carry out an emergency landing. The F22 arrived and landed safely and the pilot was unharmed. I believe one of the KC135s 'Bobby73' had an issue whilst airborne.
Once Cube 21 arrived safely, Cube 25 requested a 'Quick Climb'...ooooohhhhhhhh yeahhhhhhh! And what an amazing Quick Climb it was!
The F-22 Raptors are part of the 3rd Wing and is identified by the tail code 'AK'. The 3rd Wing is a unit of the United States Air Force, assigned to the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) Eleventh Air Force. It is stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson, Alaska.
The Wing is the largest and principal unit within 11th Air Force. A composite organization, it provides air supremacy, surveillance, worldwide airlift, and agile combat support forces to project power and reach. As the host unit at Elmendorf, the 3rd Wing also maintains the installation for force staging and throughput operations for worldwide U.S. DOD short-notice deployments, and provides medical care for all forces in Alaska.
The wing's 3rd Operations Group is a direct descendant of the 3rd Attack Group, one of the 15 original combat air groups formed by the Army before World War II. The Wing performed reconnaissance and interdiction combat missions from Iwakuni Air Base, Japan, at the beginning of the Korean War.
During the Vietnam War, the wing moved in November 1965 to Bien Hoa Air Base, South Vietnam, a forward operating base, which frequently came under enemy mortar and rocket fire. Missions included close air support, counterinsurgency, forward air control, interdiction, and radar-controlled bombing. Supported numerous ground operations with strike missions against enemy fortifications, supply areas, lines of communication and personnel, in addition to suppressing fire in landing areas.
Today, the 3rd Wing trains and equips an Air Expeditionary Force lead wing composed of more than 6,000 Airmen and E-3G, C-17 and of course, the F-22A aircraft.

Oiii oiiii 🤙🏼😎 I know right, and they clearly seen our noTEDS and knew we were coming so they decided to depart on that day. Oh and we were there for the last two as well that took off on the Tuesday. This will be Friday’s video as a head up 😎 ooohhh yeah, Lakenheath sure is awesome. 🐄
F-22 such an awesome craft and by far my fave of the modern US jets.

Saw an F22 at our local air show a couple of years ago. Very impressive. However the cow in your video didn't seem too impressed.
Oh yay! Those are my favorite Air Force jets in America! I love the typhoons in the uk too!

Ooooohhhh yeah The pilots knew we were there as they must have checked the noTEDS 😎 they made sure we got a good view wahhhhayyyy We at the TCS love being on the opposite end of the runway at Lakenheath for a different experience. Parking is the issue as it gets filled up quick as there is room for only about 7 carefully parked cars. Plan B would be to park it in the village and walk from there.

This is why we put out the noTEDS 😎😂 Overall, the whole day was simply overwhelming and awesome. Yes, the roar/noise is superb and cannot believe we seen F22s

Living here in the States I've been fortunate enough to see it multiple times at various air shows and locations in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts, but most recently at Nellis Air Force base in Nevada. It never gets old. I've seen the F-35A multiple times but have yet to see either the F-35B or F-35C perform. I saw the F-35A for the first time at Stewart airport in Newburgh New York in 2019, which quite incidentally was the year that the UK's Red Arrows were on their North American tour along with the Airbus A400M flying petrol station. Great show by the Red Arrows by the way.

Oiiii Oiiii Wenda. We were so excited to see the F22 Raptors for the first ever time and couldn't believe it was going to happen live too. They were impressive. So, as we are preparing for a break, it has come to our attention that there may be some action next week...so as didn't do a Christmas special this year (but we set out to wear our hats for the whole of December as a festive theme) there might be a live Christmas special...We have got our feelers out for info...if we get the right info, we are going for it.. Thank you so much and yes, it is time to keep warm and eat lots of salmon. I love salmon... Hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy new year Wenda 🎅🎄

Oiiiii oiiii Adam 🤙🏼 Well, we put out noTEDS to pilots know we are about (and of of course for our fans to find us) but I believe they do know as there are some specially timed turns/pulls/banks etc that would be a case of “if a tree falls in the Forest” scenario. So yes I believe so

Negative. They are not based at Lakenheath. They usually get deployed for a short spell once or twice a year at LN though

Most training is done Monday to Friday. However this time of year, you may get BBMF at Coningsby but you can always try Mildenhall or Brize

The best air to air close combat superiority to come out of USA but we have typhoons and in tests the typhoon has beaten the raptor a couple of times 😂 awesome to see multiple quick climbs of this formidable plane ❤❤

They’re called “exercises” and the particular one you are referring to was within visual range and both aircraft heading into a merge. The French Rafale have HUD video of a rear of a F-22. No country will go to Red Flag if it’s all about how they’re going to get beat by F-22s. Hence why Typhoons, Rafael’s, SU-30MKK have all claimed to have “won” against F-22s at Red Flag according to British, French and Indian tabloids. So keep repeating propaganda. Stealth aircraft is why the Typhoons are being replaced.

Ted would you happen to know how many times they have to re-fuel with the three flying petrol stations in order to make it home to Alaska? I noticed that all of them had conformal fuel tanks as well which would give them even greater distance capability as well.🤓💯👱👈✈🛩🛫🛬

Oiii oiiii 🤙🏼 I don’t know officially but I think with the two external fuel tanks, I believe it to be around 2-3 AAR intervals. Hope this helps.
