I got excited for another Twilight Zone review! I haven't seen this one in so long. As a kid, it validated my thoughts on EVERYthing having a conscious, even a stapler. Man, the Twilight Zone really set the stage for so many films and shows it's crazy reflecting on it all. Indian in the Cupboard was my jam!
The idea of the story is so unique, and honestly a little terrifying lol. We can all pretty much relate to questioning our own existence.
My FAVORITE Twilight Zone episode. And that’s saying a lot. Nothing was ever as absurd as this Masterpiece.
What I consider THE best episode of the Twilight Zone.
Clown: "we're here because we're here because we're here"
An nightmare version of "Toy Story",Twilight Zone style........
It conveys the message that gaining perspective on one’s problems helps to identify the solution. In this case that was expressed literally.
It blows my mind how this show made it to tv. It's so brilliant and so cerebral. Rod Serling was a genius!
There is no circus and there is no war.
The Human condition:We're here because we're here.
Dude.. This was a unexpected plot twist.. Great review.. I haven't gotten this far yet.. A must watch
The story is existentialist in the philosophy of Jean-Paul Sartre. We human beings find ourselves on the Earth by accident. There is no meaning in life - just a series of accidents without meaning. We don't remember anything before we were born, and we have no clues as to what happens after death.
"Who are you and what are you doing here? Is there a circus around here somewhere?" Was how my job interview began. lol
When I was about 12, I thought I’d seen every Twilight Zone episode, when one night, they played this one at about midnight when I had a bad fever. This episode scared the shit out of me. I couldn’t figure it out until the very end. Then, it made me emotional because it made me think of all the toys I’d gotten at the church yard sale over the years, thinking about if they actually had personalities, how they’d have felt being abandoned and then given a new home.
As I always say, cause I am super redundant, I always love the ones with heavy mystery elements. And this one was particularly good because the twist was so unexpected. Nowadays, they probably would have been dead the whole time. Hollywood never seems to tire of that cliché.
This is an amazing episode, built around a darn simple scenario, yet with the best of performances, and as tense and suspenseful as the viewer can expect. And like The After Hours, we deal with humanoid dolls shaking any insights to reality that we have, and that's pure Twilight Zone.
The Twilight Zone is so creepy. I love the voiceover on the episodes. Have you ever seen the movie The Laplaces Demon? I think you may like it a lot.
Having a Major in the Military as the new character is a great idea. A military leader will choose force, he is also able to unite and lead people for a cause. I vaguely remember this episode. I think that I loved it. A wonderful review my friend. I was very happy to see that you made a new video.
I love that u bring out old school shows or movies to life especially with such great detail. Much love
Excellent TZ review as always Fever and you grabbed another one of my favorites. One of the best out of nowhere twists that makes TZ such a fantastic show with the most unique stories. Nice work!
