Fitz Simmons (Agents of Shield) | Character Focus

I dive into one of my favorite character dynamics of television, Jemma Simmons and Leopold Fitz. They have such an incredible journey over Agents of Shield's seven season run, and their characters deserve to be recognized.
I'm just getting started with these videos, so stay tuned if you want to see more content on a wide variety of media. I have so much fun making these videos, and I appreciate every single person that takes the time to watch.
Also Captain Disillusion is gonna have my ass for that Earth shattering mask in the title screen.

They're such great actors, especially Fitz. They would be such great additions to the Disney+ shows and movies. MCU fans that don't know Fitz-simmons are missing out

@Doitsuguy I agree with you. However, I'd still like to see them in future projects, provided that AoS is kept canon in the main MCU timeline. Which, in my mind, it is. If they were able to respect their AoS selves, I think it might encourage the MCU fandom to go and watch AoS if they haven't. It doesn't really matter if they don't bring back creative control, as if these characters were to reappear, they would likely do so in sporadic instances... and if they reappearing canonizes everything that went on in AoS and the inhumans, hive, shield, etc. can be re-explored, I'd be more than thrilled.
Fitz is my fav tv or film character period

He brings out the good in simmons We saw what life was like for Jemma without fitz in season 6 she was a much darker person She wasn’t evil but she did things past Jemma wouldn’t have done Her attitude was colder and she was willing to resort to torture to get the info she wanted If I was the only one who noticed that I think we should feel grateful she has a fitz in her life to keep her grounded and good I’m not sure if u address it in the video but your welcome anyway

Its very obvious from the framework that Jemma makes Fitz a more moral person but this is an excellent point as well! I think they both hold each other accountable because after each other their first loyalty is to science which can easily be twisted. Jemma in season 2 is still not a very good liar. Her role in Hydra is only believable because her cover story is she is there for the science and to some extent that story is true. (Ie. I don't think she joined SHIELD for moral reasons even if her morality does align with them)
Could you do a Character Focus for Deke? I feel he went through so much development over the course of the last three seasons and really earned his place as a fan favorite so late in the game.
Great video. Totally agree, Fitz and Simmons should be in the larger MCU.

Fitz is my favorite character but I always found him screaming JEMMAAAAAA!!!! hilarious
i dont say this about just anyone but they both together or individually could play The Doctor the acting they both have and the people they both are..... speechless

They are my favorites and both of them had the best characters development. Fitz being soft nordy comedic relief and after brain damage he turned into amazing character. How each trauma made them and how they developed their relationships was my everything. I hated directors every time they had to be separated and traumatized again and againg. Each character and their interaction was mastered and perfectly executed by the cast and directors. How they kept me on my toes and made me hold my breath along Daisy(Sky), the bus kids earned everything and deserved better. My ultimate trauma was also Linkoln and Daisy shit his death the most brutal death along with Fitzs death in sseason 5 "I THINK MY LEGS ARE BROKEN" 😢😢😢😢 And this show is the only marvel show that showed what it means proper ending and good characters cause now ohhh they are making shit out there

They're both amazing but Ian is truely an incredible actor. While Simmons goes through a long arc to becoming more badass as well, Fitz portays realistic disability and an incredibly convincing role as both a hero, villian and ambiguous character. His range as an actor was on full display over the course of the seasons and he adapted to every twist and turn. The only thing he clearly wasn't carrying alone is his dynamic with Simmons because his relationship in the framework is nowhere near as convincing and I don't believe it is because his character was any less of a romantic in that reality.
