He didn’t care about anybody else but when he heard Olivia's name... THAT broke him

Can we take a moment to appreciate how great of an actor Tony Goldwyn is. He convey is pain and hurt and disappointment in that split second and that had me crying my eyes out becausr I felt the pain as well.

It's like no surprise of everybody else but when he found out Olivia was involved he was crushed. She was the only one that really didn't benefit or want anything out of him being president. She did it as a favor to Cyrus. All she got was to fall in love with Fitz and she became communications director.

Fitz expression when he realise Oliva was a part of it gets me every time! That pained, shocked heartbreaking expression. Thats the acting that made me fall in love whit Scandal And thats what been missiing the last season and half

She was the only one that had nothing to gain or didn't have an agenda. She came on board to help Cyrus. She ended up falling in love with the candidate that she was working for. She never told Fitz that the election was rigged. He knew everybody else were opportunist that was riding Fitz coattail but Olivia was supposed to be different. If she were to have told him herself when all this was coming out then things wouldve been different. Coming from Verna made it betrayal from Olivia.

One of my favourite scenes from Scandal. The switching between the hospital scene and the funeral was spot on and so heart wrenching.

This was the best scandal could get. Season 2 was everything.

This is what Fitz has a problem with. He has never made a decision about anything in his life. His marriage was arranged by his dad and Mellie's dad. The defiance decision was never discussed with him and yet everybody meaning Mellie and Cyrus have always said to him if he only knew the things that they did to put him in office or what they sacrificed. Nobody asked them to do those things. They did that for their own agenda. Fitz was trying to please and get approval from his dad when he ran for president but he really didn't want to be president. He just wanted to help people and their are other ways to do that. Mellie and Cyrus were power hungry but Fitz wasn't.

Facts!

Tony Goldwyn is a beast...you feel his pain and betrayal and then his anger.

In retrospect, she had it coming. She still was trying to avoid accountability

Why do I get the feelings that mentioning his father was the like the nail in the coffin for Fitz? He was hurt by it all, especially the fact the Olivia was involved, Tony has shown that beautifully but that was another blow.

Yeah, Verna shouldn't have mentioned Big Jerry at all. Besides if he were still alive he would have been on board with Defiance too.

There were 5 people involved in the defiance cover up but he was only hurt by one person Olivia this man loved her so much. Not saying that Fritz should have did what he did but she not only try to have him killed she try to blame it on huck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

She blamed it on Hollis too. Huck went through all of that getting beat up in the pentagon to protect his so called girlfriend Becky and she set him up to take the fall and killed his family.

She was dying anyway. All he did was rush it along. He killed her because she caused him to almost lose his life because of a decision that he had no say so about. To cover her ass in her participation in the rigging.

That woman has some guts, you are coming clean because you are going to die so you got no problem leaving a mess behind ? I dont really remember this épisode but i feel fitz killed her

Retrospectively, Fitz killing Verna was one of the less bad criminal acts in this show tbh. Like Verna literally tried to kill him to cover up a bad thing SHE did that he had no part in?? He for sure got his hands dirty but.. compared to all the other stuff all these ppl do? Not that bad.

I think it's kind of whiney, Fitz kind of acts like a child when it comes to Olivia or even Mellie. I know everyone covered it up, but that's how much Olivia believed and wanted him in office. It wasn't that she didn't believe in him or care about him, but they knew will the numbers that Fitz was going to lose. Similar situation happened when she ran Mellie's campaign, someone with power making moves behind the shadows limiting the choices that can be made.

@@jaminwaite3867 I feel like when it comes to certain characters that's true like Hollis or Cyrus who put all his effort and soul into helping, but then I go back to Verna who said that Fitz was the president they wanted, who they needed. Besides this whole show has a bunch of treason in it xD, I just think that he should have handled it better rather than lashing out. He could have stepped down if it were weighing on him that much without taking anyone down including Olivia.

“Innocent” is a weird word to describe her. Murder is murder, I get it. But, there’s this woman on her death bed that admitted that the guilt of her participation in a conspiracy led her to attempt to kill Fitz, who was completely unaware of said conspiracy, and then she is committed to destroying everything left of his career before her death because of her guilt and nothing he did. This is, to me, one of the most reasonable murders in the series.

Um Verna was the one that had Fitz shot to cover up her part in the election rigging. She is far from innocent. If anything he helped her to pass on because she was dying anyway.
