Fitting Triclamps For The Elements On The Ss BrewTech Pots

The time has come to take the plasma cutter to the new Ss BrewTech pots! Once the holes are cut the triclamp fittings can be welded on. Harry did a fantastic job and so the hard part of the pot build is finished! :)

For the size of the pots, and the thinness of the steel, that is a brilliant job. They were never going to be able to be done without any distortion, so to have them finished and looking so good, with so little distortion is fantastic, and great skill by Harry. They look great mate, looking forward to seeing them in action soon. Good job Harry. cheers

Bobby from brew hardware sells flanges with curvature that would have eliminated the warping

Welding looks good, the only way you can prevent warping the pots further is by doing the stitchweld Harry did. I think the other part of the warpage was from the way the pot is curved at the bottom it didn't expand and contract at the same rate is the side walls. I still can't get over how large the element bases are on those things! You'll be brewing soon!! Thanks for having out with us yesterday on the live stream, we had a good time!

Honestly there's a couple ways he could have been more careful welding these. He's going to have contamination issues for sure. I'd have them redone, because they are NOT FOOD GRADE WELDS gentleman. I'm sorry but they're not. Second, filler shouldn't be needed if you have proper fitment. You should be able to fuse weld those two metals together focusing more of your weld toward the heavier metal with each stitch about 70/30. Please for the sake of your brand, your name, and customers, scrap those pieces and redo the welds. Food grade is food grade there's no exceptions. It's people's health on the line, no half way attempts. It's either correct or it's not.

@@fubuz well, you have answered yourself, your not a welder, or know anything about welding apart from thinking an amateur welder helping his mate should be producing welds of art. If you did have any clue, you would know that even for a skilled qualified welder that wouldnt have been an easy job, and came with risks. Sometimes in welding, its not always as pretty as you would like, but just as strong and functional, but then you wouldnt know that, not being a welder n all.
