Fitting a Loco Remote Mini B to a Phil Sharples 32mm gauge Estate loco - www.locoremote.co.uk

Phil Sharples makes some wonderful small loco kits and we have worked together for several years on making it easy to control them with Loco Remotes. A couple of months ago Phil showed me his latest 32mm gauge Estate loco kit philsharples.c... and challenged me to fit a controller in it. It has a really small bonnet so I have designed a 3D printed holder with integrated diamond pattern grill to take a Mini B with wires and keep it insulated from the motor can. A 3.7V lipo fits in the cab in place of the AAA batteries and I have designed a removable cover for this to hide it. Finally I upgraded the chassis to 4 wheel drive with pulleys and a nitrile O ring on Binnie 42mm axles. All this had been done with zero modifications to any parts of the standard loco kit. No MDF needs to be cut. It will need to be fitted as part of the initial build and would be very hard to retrofit to a completed loco. The upgraded loco performs beautifully at all speeds on even the tightest curves. An upgrade pack is available including the Loco Remote Mini B, 3D printed parts, axles, pulleys and O ring for £48.00.
