Thanks for the video, very helpful. I just ordered an electrical teperature gauge and 40mm adapter on amazon, I'm going to give it a go. A friend of mine told me about fuse taps that plug directly into the fuse box without having to cut into the wiring harness, so I'm going that route. (It's essentially a splitter, that adds a wire and an additional fuse for the accesory you are adding.) Might be worth looking into for anyone reading this like who like me, isn't that confident about splicing directly into the vehicle's wire harness to access the power circuits.

Thanks for posting. I'm in the planning stages to add 3 guages. (Volt/oil pressure/water temp sensor) on my 09 Forester. I'm thinking I need to route wires through GPS device hole in dash. Fingers crossed that all goes as planned. Cheers !

Nev, that is a very professional installation! Don't know where you are but I just would love to have you do the same job on my identical Forester for obvious reasons and whatever your cost is??

This morning i was putting water in the coolant tank...but forgot to close the lid. When I drove back, I just noticed a smell like a heating engine.....what could that mean. I opened the Bonet, and I noticed the lid was not closed. And I smelt that smell like the car is heating . What can I do?

Why not using one of those OBD2 plug and play sensors ? The car know the temperature precisely there is no need to make new system for that so why all this work for so little in the end in half an hour KZread video .

Just like he said all the car has is a warning light that comes on when it's hot and too late and too hot and damage is already done this way he can turn the car of when he sees the temp Start rising too much BEFORE it gets so hot the warning light comes on

@@jamespearson3835 A Scanguage would be much better and plug n plays into your OBD2 Port in a nano second. Covers far more than just engine temps too.
