Fishman ToneDEQ Acoustic Preamp review and user guide part 1
The first part of my review and user guide of the Fishman ToneDEQ (pronounced "tone-deck") acoustic instrument preamp pedal. This is a combination preamp, EQ, compressor, boost and dual effects pedal that is designed as an all-in-one solution for the acoustic musician. I have owned this pedal for eight months at time of review. This is not a sponsored video, I purchased the pedal myself.

I have the Fishman Aura DI. Would it make much difference if I add the Tonedeq onto my pedalboard? Thank you ✌️

Hello Mat, that's a good question. Both of these pedals have a compressor, three band EQ, phase switch and XLR output. The Tonedeq has the four onboard effects instead of the Aura's has the imaging section. If you already have the Aura, I think that adding the Tonedeq would result in quite a bit of feature duplication, so perhaps consider adding a reverb and/or delay pedal to your board instead.
Does the Fishman Loudbox Mini do the job without this, or would having both be of value?

The loudbox mini has only reverb and chorus, neither of which are footswitch-able. If you need delay, flanger or tremolo then the ToneDEQ would be a useful addition.
hello! Excuse me... is it good for double bass or electric bass? thanks for your answer😊

It can definitely be used for those instruments, although the EQ range and effects are optimised more for acoustic guitar, violin, mandolin etc. For electric bass I prefer something like the MXR bass preamp.
Wow, almost two years. I thought we would have to put your picture on a milk carton.
