Fishing was Manic…(So pleased I went, but I blew a tyre!)

Ойын-сауық

There is no shortage of fishing action in this river fishing session as Graeme puts up an hour long film from a trip he took to the River Wye in Autumn last year. He dropped in to see Woody at the Tackle shop who tipped him off on a much easier route to push his tackle and camera laden trolley. He actually carried so much gear his tyre blew up on his tackle trolley! Undeterred, our man battled through to have a spectacular day fishing on the Hereford & District stretch of the River Wye, with Barbel being the predominant species and backed up by Chub. There is entertainment, action and fishing tips in this hour plus episode, plus he drops into Saxon Mill Fishery in Warwickshire after hearing about all the big fish in the river. So sit back,and let GP take you on his fishing trip...there is always something different on The Totally Awesome Fishing Show....Enjoy!

    As a kayaker and a fisherman I can say without doubt that fish aren't bothered by passing canoes and kayaks. I used to paddle the Canterbury Stour and it was gin clear. I used to pass over shoals of Roach and Chub. They weren't bothered. The occasional bigger Chub would duck out of sight as I passed over them. I wish I'd worked out an anchoring system so I could have stopped and fished for them!

  • @cameroncameron2826

    @cameroncameron2826

    Myself and an old fishing buddy enjoyed what was to proved a 'spoilt' time with carp on the lower thames late 80's. Anyone would have caught those fish since the area in question just happened to have plenty of them at the time. Discovered by accident again when barbel fishing, they usually rocket downstream like trains when hooked. We went for them from the bank and in a punt which tends to be how a lot of thames carp men do it. Late evening / early morning bites. But i'm not sure it was ever that relatively easy since as i think it defaulted to less but more big fish & then its into the very dedicated as mentioned. Funny habits thames carp have and will eat anything really, they think nothing of mopping up tons of hemp & caster / luncheon / saus / boily / pellet worm / if you find them they'll eat it. Its nice to recall those thames carp days again.
