When i was little i just had a spinning combo and some 15lb test line. i just had some worms and little fish as bait. i outfished johnny down the street with all the expensive gear, only with a rod and some worms in my pocket. this video truly shows that any rod and reel can work, just go have fun!

I still have and use my Zebco Omega 33 from 1977 when I was 13 years old. It still works perfect and catches fish. I'm almost 57 now. I'm pretty sure this reel is going to outlast me by a long time. I have it on a medium heavy graphite rod I've had since 1988.

I used my Zebco 33 I got in 1976 when I was 10, till it disappeared on me a few years ago. I got an Old Pal 1050 tackle box at the same time and still use it. They built quality back then.

To all 3 of you... that's awesome. I love the Zebco 33s. The old ones and the new ones. My big brother and dad love expensive rod and reels. I been killing it right next to them with a $30 Zebco 33 and Zebco 33 micro caster. I don't understand where the Z33 hate comes from. It makes no sense to me.

Zebs are awesome. You can get vintage 33's on Ebay all day for 20 bucks. Might need cleaning but they are reliable and well built. I have a 1955 and a 1965. I wish someone would make a video of one of those!

The Zebco 33 can hang with most anything,seen some Big carp landed on them !

All I use is a Zebco 33 and have caught big bass bluegill, catfish and saltwater trout on it since I was 6.

Enjoyed it man. That’s the kind of rig we started with in the old days, well, a 202. That’s all we had. Caught everything with it. Moved up to a 404 at some point. Fish never knew the difference, lol🙂

Bro... It was Definitely NOT the Zeb 33 combos fault you lost those bigger fish!! The hook was the reason imo. The same exact combo with a tru turn or a gotzu hook. Even with the 10lb mono. You would have landed 90% of the one's that got off. Like I said IMO.

He blamed the “cheap line that came with it” when it snapped... the 33 comes with red Cajun line.. he is using other clear line that he put on himself

I bass fish with 8lb Berkley Triline XL mono. And Rarely snap it !! Landed a 12lb Channel Cat on that same exact line last yr. Kicken is used to horsing his bass and not worrying about line strength with 15/17lb line. Learn how to use the #DRAG Bro !! LoL jk.

People down talk them probably because they are mad a 20$ setup will catch as big of a fish as the shit the overpayed for

I've caught a 18lb carp on my 33 and they fight harder than bass always change the line it comes with to a quality mono like stren or trilene

My dad just bought 4 of these for me to take my daughters out, this is very promising to see this video since I’m just beginning they’ll be able to catch some and have a great day out! Thanks for the wide spectrum of videos you put out!

That's how old they are now. They were both around 6 when I got them the Zebco 33s. My son use's a Shamano Spin cast on a MedHev/fast action Ugly Stick. He seems to like it pretty well. Been practicing with him on a bait caster. Buttt the #BACKLASH bug really pisses him off. Lmao

I used to use a 33, but since zebco came out with the omega ZO3 PRO spincast reel, it's 10X the reel of those 33's! With 7 ball bearings, it truly works as good as any true bait caster I've ever used! Zebco reels are the perfect starter reel has been for many years. Great video keep it up. Just a suggestion but you Lojo and Norm should each make a completely homemade lure and fish with it in a challenge

I have 20 rod and reels ranging from $30-$400. I use my Zebco 33 Golds and Zebco 888 as much of not more than the others. Dude is fishing a mowed pond.He could use a broom stick

I watched my step dad catch a bluegill on a paperclip and a piece of string . I kid you,not. He used a cricket for bait. He is a Bass fishing maniac. We were at a ranch in West Texas, that my sister and her husband took care of, Just an old Tank for watering cows.

Well, as I understand, that's why the spincast reel was developed, to compensate the baitcaster's backlash.

I know you have a few but obviously no one really needs a $400 shimano super wiz bang reel with a state of the art st croix medium heavy rid to catch good bass catfish etc. Nice to see you're dedicating this time to the single most iconic spincast reel since the johnson century

Fishing has changed so much...watching these young guys do it, they set the hook and then try to muscle in every fish they catch. Yeah...if you wanna just jerk them out of the water then you're gonna need a stiff action rod, with a bigger real. If you wanna actually use some fishing skill you can catch big fish on smaller rigs (such as a MF Zebco rod and reel set)...more fun and more challenging. Don't bad mouth the gear before you learn how to actually use it. Would love to see this guys try and fly fish! LOL.

I grew up on a 33 Zebco. Hauled in several 2-3lb bass with them. Even caught an 8lb freshwater drum on one. I always swapped the 10lb line for no less than 15lb line.

My entire childhood was all spincast reels. I now use spinners and baitcast, but I'll still bring out the zebco spincast I have set up for when I want another line in the water for catfish. I actually caught my pb catfish around 15 lbs with the zebco lol

Zebco 33 is to fishing as the 30-33 is to deer hunting. The zebco 33 has caught more fish of all sizes than any other real. Is it the best? Maybe not, but it’s been around for a very long time. It's gone through a lot of cosmetic changes but the basic design is still the same.

Dont what the challenge is! Zebco rod and a pistol grip reel is the only gear us "old timers" used 30 years ago. We caught big bass and pike then.....its still the gear I use now.....and on my worst day I'd out fish you young man.

For someone like me with shoulder issues, a 33 works out well. It can easily handle 2-3 pound bass all day long.

Loved this video dude. I recently went back to using a sweet 33 platinum on a 5'6 medium rhino rod. Casts a mile and hauls 'em in. Got tired of birdnests and wind knots on my other more better reels, and I just wanted to have fun fishing and not dealing with line issues. Nothing wrong with a push button reel. As a matter of fact aren't low profile baitcasters kind of a push button reel also? Just askin'. Anyway love the vid. Keep making them.

I have a lot of confident stuff that I use but my go-to is that Ned rig with a small havoc worm or a small 3 inch cut piece of senko worm. That is money any day. Nothing wrong with zebco 33, just more finesse fishing. If I was going to Target Giants but 90 percent they can handle it.

I have caught many big bass and catfish on the Zebco 33 combo. You just cant muscle them in. Let them run some and work them in.
