Dude ! I love your story! I used to be addicted to fishing, but then I started on some meds , and the desire went away. I am much happier, but fishing was my drug before for sure. My wife said I was a much better person after coming home from fishing. I do really enjoy teaching others , but feel sad that they can’t enjoy the kind of fishing in the 70s - 90s . You need me on your boat for a more entertaining program! Ha!

Really enjoy your ‘fishing’ videos (and stories) , they are pretty similar to my ‘fishing’ trips, more fishing trips than ‘catching’ trips. I don’t have a boat for the river but who knows we might meet on one of the lakes someday. Keep ‘fishing’ and tight lines.

Great work ethic. I hope you can reap rewards from it now with good health. I was fortunate enough to be able to spend lots of time with my daughter during her youth. She is my best friend. Enjoy that river and homestead. It's a foreign concept, being from Florida, that a river can be devoid of any fish.

Do you run a 9.9 trolling motor on your boat? The reason I ask is I have the same boat in a tiller model and run Yamahas, 60/40 jet and 9.9. The 9.9 has power tilt and start. The boat is a little butt heavy probably due to the heavier motors and tiller. Do you like how your boat gets on plane and how it trims out? Seems fine. I would keep your pull start/manual tilt.

There's probably little difference in main motors but your kicker is probably 30 or sonpounds heavier than my manual start. I moved both batteries from the stern up to the bow storage compartment. That made a huge difference.

For years now I’ve had a rule on my big (20’) boat, if we are moving everyone wares a jacket, in my smaller 14’ all the time. Now we have inflatables so 100% of the time now. Half the time I forgot I even have it on and end up walking to the parking lot with it on to get the truck and trailer.
