Fishing Remote Lake up North (SURPRISE CATCH!!)

We FINALLY made it up North!! G and I have been up here a few days, and the fishing has been AMAZING. I had an incredible day yesterday with 10 smallmouth bass over 4 lbs! (Gear listed below) Anyway, today my friend Nicole is joining us, and we hope to get her a PB! Shes a die hard musky angler, so she is cut from the same cloth. This is a remote lake, perfect for kayaks. I end up hooking into a BIG surprise.... Who can guess ?
Bait- Berkley Lil trooper in PBJ
JIG - Tungest 1/2 oz finesse jig
main line - 15lb berkley x9
leader - 10 lb berkley 100 % fluoro
Rod - fenwick world class 70MF spinning

I have only just found the BASS kayakers. I wish i had found you years ago. You folks are so kind to each other, it is hard to believe you are competing! You chat, you wish others the best Kristine. I have never seen the like! Kristine is one of the finest casters i have ever seen. All of you are ggreat fishers! Do you think the kayak makes you better? Are they more. Stealthy? Ive decided that if i survive my illness, i am going to purchase a Hobie! I need something to dream or focus on!

Hey neighbor, I live just north of MN. 60 miles north of Ely as the crow flies. Yes we have serious smallmouth fishing up here, lakes are polluted with big bass!

Getting gill rake is part of it, the battle scars, give you stories to tell and if nobody believes you just show em your hand/knuckles with pride.👍

Glad you were up here, it’s our stomping ground. Lived here for 20 years. Met you a few times out on the tournament trail. if you were up here, please connect. Will put you on some amazing top water lakes…, above average numbers, and chances at random musky in a lake that you would never guess…
